Disney fans have been buzzing with ideas since January 12, 2025, when Hester & Chester’s Dino-Rama! in Disney’s Animal Kingdom closed.
As the area prepares to transform into the Tropical Americas, themed after Encanto (2021) and the Indiana Jones franchise, many are lamenting the loss of attractions like TriceraTop Spin, which closed alongside the Fossil Fun Games and Dinosaur Treasures store.
Although DinoLand U.S.A. wasn’t universally loved, the area had its share of loyal fans. The announcement of its closure sparked a wave of nostalgia, with many flocking to experience Dino-Rama! one last time.

Amid the mixed reactions, an intriguing idea emerged—why not relocate TriceraTop Spin to Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios?
The Perfect Fit?
TriceraTop Spin, a gondola-style ride reminiscent of Dumbo the Flying Elephant, could find new life in Hollywood Studios.
One fan took to X (formerly Twitter), suggesting,
Saw someone mention this should be moved to Toy Story Land and I have to 100% agree. Just the kind of attraction that area needs.

The post resonated with many, as Disney’s Hollywood Studios is often criticized for its lack of family-friendly rides compared to thrill-heavy offerings like the Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
The proposed twist? Reimagine the Triceratops ride vehicles as Trixie, the beloved blue Triceratops introduced in Toy Story 3 (2010). A simple paint job could transform the attraction into “Trixie’s TriceraTop Spin,” blending seamlessly with Toy Story Land’s playful aesthetic.
Fans argue that Trixie’s presence in Toy Story shorts, Toy Story That Time Forgot, and Toy Story 4 (2019) would make her a natural addition to the park.

A Practical Solution or Missed Opportunity?
While many fans loved the idea, others were quick to point out potential challenges. Toy Story Land is designed to resemble Andy’s backyard, and some argue that a repurposed dinosaur ride might feel out of place.
However, as one commenter noted:
They added TS3 characters to Midway Mania so I think the seal is broken.

There’s also the matter of ride variety. Toy Story Land already features a “flat attraction” in Alien Swirling Saucers, and critics worry that adding another might not do enough to expand the park’s ride offerings.
Still, others contend that Hollywood Studios desperately needs more family-friendly experiences, making Trixie’s TriceraTop Spin a practical option.
100 percent. Hollywood studios could use a flat ride that appeals to littles!!

What’s Next?
As Disney moves forward with its plans for Tropical Americas, fans can only hope their voices are heard. Would TriceraTop Spin find a second life in Toy Story Land, or will it remain a cherished memory of DinoLand’s past? Disney has yet to comment on the fan campaign, but one thing is clear—when it comes to Disney Parks, no idea is too whimsical to spark a little magic.

I like the idea of Trixie’s Triceratop Spin in Toy Story Land. On our last visit to Walt Disney World, my wife and son really enjoyed their trip on the Triceratop Spin. They actually did it three (3) times! It was worth the time to see them enjoying themselves.
I will be sorry to see it go, if it does. There needs to be more family activities like this and the Rivers of America. I have a hard time putting race cars in Frontierland. Maybe a wagon train ride or pony rides, but race cars? How about panning for gold or a Native American village. I know that there are Native Americans that reside in Florida, and I mean REAL Native Americans, not robots. Perhaps Disney could create an area that included many of the different tribal life styles of the Native Americans that inhabit the United States. There could be a Woodland area, a Great Plains area, an Alaskan area, a Southern US area including Florida and a Hawaiian area. These could all fit into Frontierland, NOT race cars!!!
