Disney Confirms Baymax Character Alongside Major Hollywood Studios Attraction Opening

Baymax fans finally have a new reason to head toward Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The lovable healthcare companion from Big Hero 6 (2014) has made his way into the park at almost the perfect moment. Magic of Disney Animation officially opened on September 14, 2026, finishing another major piece of Disney’s transformation of this corner of Hollywood Studios.

Some parts of the surrounding Walt Disney Studios Lot had already opened before the animation experience officially debuted. Now that the larger project is welcoming guests, Disney has added a little more Baymax to the mix.

It may not be the Baymax attraction some fans would love to see, but it does bring a familiar favorite back into the Disney World conversation.

A California Favorite Reaches Disney World

The newest addition is the Baymax Sipper, which Disney is now offering at Hollywood Studios.

This particular design should look familiar to Disneyland fans. The collectible previously appeared at San Fransokyo Square in Disney California Adventure, where it debuted in 2023. Three years later, Walt Disney World guests can find it in the transformed animation area in Florida.

The design places Baymax with his charging station, creating a collectible that doubles as a drink container.

Disney is serving the sipper with a specialty beverage called “Ani-Made.” The drink combines Minute Maid premium lemonade with Dole Pineapple Juice and watermelon syrup.

Guests hoping to take more than one home should also be aware of Disney’s purchase restrictions. The resort is limiting the Baymax Sipper to 2 per person per transaction.

While the collectible may attract plenty of attention from Big Hero 6 (2014) fans, it arrives alongside a much larger addition to Hollywood Studios.

Disney’s Animation Expansion Is Complete

Magic of Disney Animation officially opened to guests on September 14, expanding what visitors can experience in the reworked section of the park.

Among the additions is Drawn to Wonderland, an indoor play area inspired by Disney’s Alice in Wonderland (1951). It gives younger visitors another activity while tying the new space to Disney’s long animation history.

Olaf Draws! adds another familiar character to the lineup. Together, these experiences help Disney blend classic animation with characters from more recent movies, rather than building the entire area around a single franchise.

That variety also extends to the surrounding Walt Disney Studios Lot, which had already begun its new chapter before Magic of Disney Animation officially opened.

Guests Had Already Seen Part of the Transformation

Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! was among the experiences that opened earlier in the transformed area, bringing a show aimed at younger Disney fans.

The outdoor spaces also received their own animation-inspired additions. Guests can encounter statues featuring familiar animated animals as they explore, while roaming characters can create more spontaneous interactions outside the traditional meet-and-greet setup.

Together, those details give this section of Hollywood Studios a broader Disney identity.

That stands out at a park that has increasingly embraced major franchises and heavily themed destinations over the years. The Walt Disney Studios Lot and Magic of Disney Animation instead give Disney room to feature characters from different eras and stories.

Baymax certainly fits that approach. His newest appearance also raises an interesting question about what Disney could potentially do with the character someday.

Baymax Could Fit Somewhere Else, Too

Disney has not announced a Baymax attraction for Walt Disney World, and there is currently no indication that one is being developed.

Still, Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom offers an interesting hypothetical home.

The former Stitch’s Great Escape location has remained a frequent subject of speculation since the attraction’s closure. If Disney eventually decides to rethink unused or underused areas of Tomorrowland, Baymax could make thematic sense, considering the futuristic world of Big Hero 6 (2014).

There is already precedent for turning the character into a theme park ride.

Tokyo Disneyland operates The Happy Ride with Baymax, demonstrating that Disney Imagineering has already created an attraction centered on the character. That doesn’t mean the same ride, or any Baymax attraction, will come to Florida.

For now, that possibility remains nothing more than an idea.

For Now, Baymax Is Back in the Conversation

Baymax still has a relatively limited presence at Walt Disney World. Merchandise accounts for much of it, although the character has occasionally appeared in person.

Most recently, Baymax joined a massive collection of iconic Disney characters for a group photo celebrating Magic of Disney Animation’s opening.

Now his sipper gives Big Hero 6 (2014) fans another way to find him at Hollywood Studios.

Whether Disney eventually gives Baymax something bigger remains unknown. But with Magic of Disney Animation officially open and Disney putting renewed attention on animated characters at Hollywood Studios, his arrival comes at an interesting time.
