Disney Drops Chilling Trailer for ‘Goosebumps’ Season 2 – Here’s What’s Coming!

R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books have long been a staple in children’s literature since their debut in 1992. Each book blends adventure with a touch of horror, captivating young readers globally. The series includes memorable titles like Say Cheese and Die!, and Night of the Living Dummy, which have left an indelible mark on the genre.

Given their nostalgic appeal, Disney made the strategic move to adapt this beloved franchise into a new television series, Goosebumps, which premiered on Disney+ and Hulu on October 13, 2023. The first season starred Justin Long as Nathan Bratt, a teacher thrust into paranormal encounters in a haunted house. This series quickly garnered a positive response, showcasing Disney’s knack for weaving nostalgia with modern storytelling.

The inaugural season’s popularity sparked immediate calls for a second season, which Disney eventually confirmed in February 2024. Given the success of Goosebumps season 1, fans’ anticipation for what is next has reached a fever pitch.

Disney recently dropped the trailer for Goosebumps season 2, called Goosebumps: The Vanishing, heightening excitement and speculation about its direction. Unfortunately, unlike the first season, The Vanishing will not premiere in time for the Halloween season.

In the new season, viewers will be introduced to a different protagonist, played by Friends star, David Schwimmer. His character, Anthony, is a divorced parent of teenage fraternal twins, Cece and Devin, aiming for a fun and safe summer with them. However, he imposes a strict rule: stay out of the basement. This seemingly simple rule is set against the backdrop of a family secret tied to Anthony’s brother’s mysterious disappearance when they were younger.

The plot centers around the teenage twins, who inevitably find themselves unraveling the chilling secrets not just of their father’s past, but also the fate of four young people who vanished in 1994.
