For many millennials, their childhoods were filled with enjoying shows like Lizzie McGuire, movies like Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and books by R.L. Stine. Stine was the creator of the spine-tingling Goosebumps series, which was just creepy enough to make you wonder what goes bump in the night. Some of the most famous books in the series were Say Cheese and Die!, Night of the Living Dummy, Go Eat Worms!, and The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena.
Sony Pictures Television made two films based on the scholastic book series — Goosebumps in 2015 and Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween in 2018. In 2020, the studio announced that it would be bringing the books to life with a brand-new television show. Sony then teamed up with The Walt Disney Company and Goosebumps was released on Disney+ and Hulu on October 13, 2023, as part of its “Hallowstream” and “Huluween” lineups.
Goosebumps was an absolute hit, with fans loving the nostalgia, which was perfectly combined with the now. Last month, Disney announced that the series would be made into an anthology and season two was on the way!

And now, we have some BIG casting news to share!
According to reports, Disney has cast David Schwimmer as the star of season two! Variety is reporting that Schwimmer still star as Anthony, “a former botany professor and divorced parent of teenage twins whose world takes a tumultuous turn as he juggles the responsibilities of overseeing an aging parent while having his kids for the summer.”
We also know that the series will revolve around Anthony’s two children. A synopsis for season two reads:
Teenage siblings discover a threat stirring, triggering a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery. As they delve into the unknown, the duo find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.
Because Disney has decided to make the series an anthology, each coming season will focus on a new story with new characters. But it is always possible that a character from a previous season could make a cameo.
Season one of Goosebumps starred Justin Long as Nathan Bratt, a teacher who moves into a new house and becomes possessed by a dead teenager (Harold Biddle) who used to live there. The series also starred Zack Morris as Isaiah Howard, Isa Briones as Margot Stokes, Miles McKenna as James, Ana Yi Puig as Isabella Lopez, and Will Price as Lucas Parker.
We do not yet know who will play Schwimmer’s children in season two.
Disney Dining will keep readers updated as we learn more about the spooky new season!
