Disney Dethroned: Small Theme Park Ousts Magic Kingdom in National Ranking

Dollywood has secured the top position in TripAdvisor’s 2025 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards, marking the third time in four years that the Pigeon Forge park has been named the No. 1 theme park in the United States. The award places Dollywood ahead of major theme parks, including Disney’s Magic Kingdom (No. 2) and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (No. 4), as well as Universal and Legoland. This recognition further cements Dollywood’s status as one of the most beloved destinations in the theme park industry.

A Major Win for Dollywood

Eugene Naughton, Dollywood’s President, expressed his gratitude for the win, calling it “humbling.” “This award is humbling because it is derived from real reviews left by our actual guests describing their time here at our parks and resorts,” Naughton shared in a statement. He emphasized that the recognition was a reflection of the hard work and dedication of Dollywood’s staff, who ensure that guests are treated with care and warmth throughout their visit.

“We’ve earned a number of honors this year from national organizations, and it is all due to the hard work of our hosts who ensure our guests feel welcome and cared for while they are here. We feel – and these awards continue to show – the Dollywood Parks and Resorts experience truly is best in class.”

Global Recognition for Dollywood

Beyond national success, Dollywood also ranked No. 11 on the global leaderboard, marking it as the only North American theme park to make the top 15 of the international list. This speaks to the park’s international appeal, which combines high-quality entertainment with the distinctive charm of Southern hospitality. The park’s place among the world’s best highlights its growing recognition not just in the U.S. but on a global scale.
