Disney Mayhem: Characters Go Rogue During Theme Park Performance
A recent performance at Tokyo Disney Resort took an unexpected turn when one Disney character playfully “bit” another. The incident happened aboard a boat that travels the waterways of Tokyo DisneySea, allowing several characters to wave at park visitors from the water.
Unlike the more familiar Disney icons seen in U.S. parks, this floating cast featured characters popular at some of the international Disney parks and Aulani, Disney’s Resort & Spa in Hawaii. Among them were Duffy Bear, ShellieMay, Gelatoni, StellaLou, CookieAnn, ’Olu Mel, and LinaBell. Duffy Bear first appeared in 2002 as a handmade gift from Minnie Mouse to Mickey Mouse and has since become an international favorite, joined by this charming group of friends.
On April 29, as the boat made its rounds, Gelatoni—the mischievous cat—decided to “bite” ’Olu Mel, the turtle, in a moment captured on video and shared by @mouseinfo on X (formerly Twitter). The clip quickly caught the attention of Disney Parks fans worldwide.

Though ’Olu Mel initially appeared a bit downcast, draping his hand over the edge of the boat, he soon bounced back. He continued to wave happily alongside his friends, much to the delight of onlookers.
The video racked up thousands of views and hundreds of likes on X, with fans sharing their reactions.
“Why would you share this my kids are crying now,” joked @hectorservin2.
