120 Minute Nightmare: Dozens Removed From Disney Ride After Waiting Over Two Hours
This week, dozens of Disneyland Resort guests evacuated Tiana’s Bayou Adventure after waiting over two hours to ride the attraction. One Disney Park guest shared photos of the evacuation process on social media.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure premiered in Bayou Country at Disneyland Park in November, five months after its counterpart in Frontierland at Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom Park. The rethemed Splash Mountain ride invites guests on a musical journey with their favorite characters from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog (2009): Princess Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), Mama Odie (Jenifer Lewis), Louis (Michael-Leon Wooley), Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos), and more.
Disneyland Park’s version of the Splash Mountain retheme fared far better than Magic Kingdom Park’s in the days after it opened, with far fewer guest reports of breakdowns and temporary closures. Both Disney parks seem to operate their log flume attractions regularly these days, though, of course, there are always exceptions. With strict safety standards and thousands of riders daily, any Disney Park ride will shut down occasionally.
Earlier this week, Redditor u/impermanentaccount got stuck ascending the highest hill on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and was later evacuated from the Disneyland Park attraction. They shared three backstage photos of their experience after Disney cast members safely removed everyone from the ride vehicles.

“Our log stopped right before the crest of the final big hill…not the easiest to get out of!” the Disney Park guest wrote. “We were stuck semi-vertical for a while, then escorted by a cast member through the security video booth and an employees-only hallway and outdoor break area backstage and off the ride.”
According to the guest, the wait time for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was approximately two hours when it broke down.
“We felt bad for the women behind us in the log, who had been waiting in line for two hours,” they continued. “But it was cool to get an unexpected sneak peek behind the scenes of the ride!”
In the comments, another Disneyland Resort guest confirmed they waited two hours for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure before it suddenly closed.
“Waited two hours for Tiana’s and this shutdown happened just after we made it past the kitchen,” u/LDWfan wrote. “The Lightning Lane was out of control yesterday and made the standby lane just brutal.”
It’s unclear what caused the attraction to shut down earlier this week. However, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure eventually reopened and was operating normally at the time of this article’s publication.
