Disney Cruise Line Targets Pennsylvania, Mickey Mouse Makes Official Appearance
Disney Cruise Line brought its biggest star to South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, this weekend, sending Mickey Mouse to the pitcher’s mound as part of a promotional push tied to one of youth sports’ most-watched events.
Mickey Mouse Throws Out the First Pitch
On August 30, Captain Mickey Mouse appeared on behalf of Disney Cruise Line at the championship game of the 2026 Little League World Series, delivering the ceremonial first pitch on Championship Sunday. Little League posted footage of the pitch on X (formerly known as Twitter), captioning it:

On the field, Pariba Little League out of Willemstad, Curaçao, claimed victory over Paseo Verde Little League from Henderson, Nevada, winning 11–2. The result gave Curaçao its second Little League World Series title, adding to the country’s first championship back in 2004.
The Promotion Behind the Appearance
Mickey’s trip to Pennsylvania wasn’t just ceremonial — it doubled as a pitch for Disney Cruise Line, aimed at the players, families, and fans gathered for the tournament. Port Canaveral, Florida, remains the cruise line’s primary departure point, but its eight currently active ships also sail from locations spanning North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.
Disney Cruise Line has ambitious growth plans in the works, too, with five additional ships joining the fleet and new sailings launching from Japan as early as 2029.
The Magic Behind Mickey’s Omnipresence
As any dedicated Disney Parks fan will tell you, there’s only one true Mickey Mouse. Still, through some combination of pixie dust and careful scheduling, Mickey and his fellow characters seem to be everywhere at once — greeting guests, headlining parades, and appearing in shows across Disney’s theme parks and other properties worldwide.
That’s exactly how Mickey managed to represent Disney Cruise Line in Pennsylvania on Sunday while also continuing to entertain guests at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, aboard all eight active Disney Cruise Line ships, and at Disney parks elsewhere around the globe. It’s magic, after all.
