Disney Announces End Date For Harmonious and Return of Popular Show!

And just like that, we are nearing the end of Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary celebration. The party kicked off on October 1, 2020, with the introduction of new foods, new drinks, great merchandise, and two new nighttime spectaculars — Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom and Harmonious at EPCOT. While both shows were popular with fans, they weren’t as popular as the shows that preceded them, especially Happily Ever After at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

Well, we have some news for you EPCOT fans! Disney has announced that Harmonious will end on April 2, just two days after the 50th Anniversary ends. Then, on April 3, EPCOT Forever will return for nightly showings! If you have forgotten, EPCOT Forever was a short-lived — but very well-liked — show that took place at World Showcase Lagoon between the ending of Illuminations and the start of Harmonious.

Disney also shared that Disney Enchantment will end on April 2 as well and, on April 3, Happily Ever After will once again light up the skies over Cinderella Castle!

While some had expected Harmonious to remain after the 50th had ended, Disney did announce a few months ago that the Disney Park show would be ending. It was reported as a rumor then that EPCOT Forever would be back to take its place. Those changes have now been confirmed by Disney.

Now, it is important to note that EPCOT Forever will not be at the theme park forever. At the 2022 D23 Expo held in September 2022, Disney announced that a brand-new nighttime spectacular was being developed for EPCOT. The new show will celebrate 100 years of The Walt Disney Company and will be the third nighttime spectacular developed for the celebration. Wondrous Journeys premieres at Disneyland Park on January 27, the same day as World of Color – ONE premieres at Disney California Adventure.

At this time, we don’t really have any information on the new show being developed for EPCOT. What we do know is that it will premiere sometime in late 2023, so if you are headed to The Most Magical Place on Earth for the holiday season, there is a chance that you will be one of the first people to see this amazing new show!
