A beloved Walt Disney World Resort performance came to a screeching halt recently after an accident occurred.
Walt Disney World is known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth.” Disney Cast Members and Disney Characters do their best to keep Guests and others safe while inside the Disney Parks.
Disney World has four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney Animal Kingdom.
There are plenty of attractions like rides, shows, and much more for Guests to find while visiting the Parks. One of the most popular offerings is a show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, known as Fantasmic! This show includes Disney Characters from some of your favorite animated films:
- Frozen 2
- Beauty and the Beast
- The Little Mermaid
- The Lion King
With this long list of Disney Characters, Guests may spot some of their favorites, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pluto, and Goofy.
During Fantasmic!, a dreaming Mickey Mouse dreams that he is a mighty sorcerer’s apprentice with the power to control water, color and magic. The Disney Villains—including Maleficent in the form of a towering, 40-foot-tall dragon—turn Mickey’s dream into a nightmare.
With two performances every night, this is one of the most popular nighttime spectaculars at Walt Disney World Resort. But, recently it came to a screeching halt.
During a recent performance, Fanstasmic! was forced to stop the show after an accident happened. VelociJP posted a video on Twitter showing Aladdin missing his jump. The actor starts swinging from the rope as Disney Park Guests looked on.
Very quickly, Disney dimmed the lights so that you cannot see anything happening, and then the rest of the show was canceled.

This is definitely not a normal occurrence for the performance, and we hope the Disney Cast Member is okay!
Walt Disney World Resort does its best not to have errors and delays, but from time to time things can happen.
Some tips before heading to Fantasmic!: First, Guests sitting in the first couple of rows may get wet during the performance. Guests may arrive as early as 90 minutes prior to each show. Be sure to arrive early to get a seat! One important tip is that this is an outdoor show, and it is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. Guests can look on the Disney app for changes in showtimes.
