Dwayne Johnson is known for many things, but now it seems he can add ‘the winner’ of Halloween to his lengthy resume. At least, that’s what celebrity athlete David Beckham called Johnson this week following the star’s iconic Halloween costume.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has held roles in many major films and franchises, including The Fast and The Furious franchise, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), and The Mummy franchise. Within his career, he’s held many famed roles for Disney, such as Joe Kingman in The Game Plan (2007), Jack Bruno in Race to Witch Mountain (2009), Maui in Moana (2016), and Frank Wolff in The Jungle Cruise (2021). He’s also recently announced his part in one of Disney’s upcoming projects, the live-action remake of Moana.
Johnson was even recently rumored to be in consideration for the role of Captain Jack Sparrow, replacing Johnny Depp after much recent controversy. However, it seems that Johnson fell into some controversy of his own, facing a $3 billion kidnapping lawsuit from a former WWE co-star.
The Stars Are Out on Halloween
Each year, eager fans await annual costume reveals from stars like Neil Patrick Harris and the Kardashians. This Halloween, we saw some truly great costumes on notable celebrities. Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, and their twins topped previous years’ looks featuring superheroes, Star Wars, and even Willy Wonka, with costumes inspired by mythology figures Aphrodite, Hermes, Hades, and Poseidon. The Kardashian family had kids featured in Octonaut costumes, as well as characters from The Godfather, and even young Tatum dressing up as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. His look was complete with a black turtleneck and gold chain.
However, if you ask David Beckham, Dwayne Johnson’s costume topped all of these costumes this year. Beckham shared pictures of Johnson on his Instagram, showing the star dressed up as himself during his early career as a player for Manchester United.

In his Instagram post, we see Johnson posing in a Manchester United jersey featuring Beckham’s name and previous jersey number, seven. His costume even included a blond wing, headband, sunglasses, and the famous “man bun” to complete the athlete’s former look. Beckham captioned the post saying, “And the winner is @therock 🎃 looking good man I know what I’m going as next year 💪🏼 😃.”

Previously, Johnson posted the iconic costume on his personal Instagram, referring to himself as “265lb BLA-MOAN BECKHAM.” His caption continued with a playful nod to Beckham, “#7 on the field, #1 in your heart.”
The two stars loved the Halloween look, and next year, we’re hoping to see David Beckham dressed to the nines as Dwayne Johnson. Maybe he can pull off a look from The Rock’s former WWE days.
