Could the Galactic Starcruiser’s Closing Announcement Be a Publicity Stunt?!

Some fans believe that there may be more to Disney’s latest closing announcement than what is seen.

The Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is Disney’s way of offering Guests a fully immersive Star Wars adventure. The experience offered a simulated voyage on the Halcyon starship for an out-of-this-world premium experience. Guests could interact with characters from the Star Wars movies, enjoy delicious food, and explore the Hollywood Studio’s Galaxy’s Edge. Visitors could also participate in lightsaber training and be entertained by a galaxy of nightly shows.

Unfortunately, this Star Wars hotel was unable to fill the rooms as easily as the Walt Disney Company had hoped. Disney has made the heartbreaking decision to have the final voyage take place on September 30, 2023.

Galactic Starcruiser Closing: The End of a Star Wars Hotel Era at Disney World

For Star Wars fans who love to experience the immersive world of Star Wars, the announcement of the Galactic Starcruiser closing permanently is a blow. Unfortunately, the boutique hotel was clearly not able to draw in the type of crowds it was hoping for. With voyages starting at $2,500 a night, the hotel was out of the price range of Disney’s typical Guests.

However, some fans think that something much more suspicious is going down. Many are now thinking that Disney could have announced the closing as a way to stir up business. Disney Twitter user @krismeetsworld says;

“What if the “we are closing Starcruiser in September” thing is just a ruse to drum up business. Then they’ll say “due to unprecedented demand we are modifying Starcruiser and keeping it going!!”

Could the Starcruiser Closing Be a Sham?!

Now Guests are feeling more confused than ever. Could Starcruiser’s closing announcement really just be a way to drum up more business? As of now, nearly all remaining voyages have sold out. It wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibilities to see Disney extend the closing by a few months more.

This conspiracy theory will remain unsolved until Disney makes a further announcement. Still, it is fun to think that something bigger could be at play.

As of now, visitors who have already made bookings for the Galactic Starcruiser experience will be able to make arrangements to extend their final voyage. The last voyage for the Galactic Starcruiser hotel is set for September 28 through September 30.
