Just days ago, the Walt Disney Company announced the heartbreaking news that their immersive hotel experience, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, would be closing for good. While this news is devastating, it was also quite predictable. Since opening less than two years ago, the Star Wars hotel has not performed nearly as well as Disney had hoped. While it has been praised for its boutique experience, the Galactic Starcruiser has become one of Disney’s biggest ‘flops” of the last decade.
The news of the Galactic Starcruiser’s fate has drawn lots of media attention from fans around the world looking for a Star Wars adventure. Now that everyone knows the hotel will only be making voyages through September 30, 2023, the pressure is on to buy tickets while it is still around. For the first time since opening, the Galactic Starcruiser is seeing an influx of fans racing to book their trip to the ship.
Madness as Guests Hope to Catch the Final Voyages
The countdown has begun for the Galactic Starcruiser, and hopeful voyagers are feeling the pressure to visit before late September. Since the announcement of the immersive experience closing, public reservations have been closed so that Guests whose voyages were canceled could rebook to a date that works for them. The remaining reservations were only opened up to the public starting today, May 26, 2023.
Final Galactic Starcruiser voyages began selling out faster than expected, and Star Wars fans around the world were rushing to book their spots on the unique theme Park experience. Immediately after opening up to the public, voyages quickly began selling out. As of 1:20 p.m., no dates in August or September, the hotel’s final two months, were available.
Goodbye Galactic Starcruiser
Now, as of 3 p.m. EST, Only four voyages of the starcruiser remain. The dates left are voyages on May 29, May 31, June 4, and June 12 or 2023. If you or someone you know are planning to visit the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World Resort before its final voyage in September, you should absolutely book as soon as possible. All remaining dates will likely be sold out by tomorrow night.
