Rachel Zegler’s Recent Success Could Open the Door to ANOTHER Disney Princess Role
Rachel Zegler has certainly faced a turbulent ride through Hollywood.
Her performance as Snow White in Disney’s live-action remake of the classic fairy tale was tainted from the beginning. The film’s mixed reception and lackluster box office performance did little to remedy the controversy, while leaving Zegler’s career in limbo.
Despite this, the film’s streaming success on Disney+ has given Snow White a second life.
Snow White Has Been Given a Second Chance, but What About Zegler?
The film’s struggles at the box office—earning $205.7 million against a hefty production budget—are undeniable. But on Disney+, the movie has found a new audience. And this shift in its reception raises a question: will Disney one day give Zegler another chance?
Zegler’s career is far from over. She’s already showcased her talent in a different light, with her performance in the West End revival of Evita receiving positive reviews. This move has shown she can diversify her range and move from the shadow of Snow White.
As fans continue to enjoy the live-action remake on Disney+, it’s possible that Disney could reconsider Zegler for a role in another major project: a future Star Wars installment.
Could Rachel Zegler Play Princess Leia in Star Wars?
With Zegler’s undeniable charisma and her proven ability to embody rich characters in some major Hollywood productions (Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story remake, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods), it’s not too far-fetched to think that she could one day return as another Disney Princess.
Whether it’s playing an entirely new character or even stepping into a role like Princess Leia in Star Wars—a franchise she has already expressed interest in—Zegler may yet be given a second chance by Disney, especially now that the dust has settled on Snow White.
Snow White is now streaming on Disney+.
