A Disney World Cast Member who was reported missing last week has been found deceased, as confirmed by her family.
Constance Lynn Campbell left her home on Friday, April 28, in her blue 2019 Honda Civic marked by a specialty Florida license plate commemorating the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Walt Disney World Resort. Campbell was believed to be on her way to her job as a Cast Member at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But when Campbell failed to show up for work, she was reported missing. A Missing Endangered Adult alert was issued.
Investigators working Campbell’s case believe that instead of driving to Animal Kingdom, the 65-year-old Disney World employee may have driven to a Rodeway Inn located in Kissimmee, Florida. The location is known as a hotspot where suspicious activity takes place and where crimes are sometimes committed. According to Osceola County Sheriff Marco Lopez, the last time Campbell’s family members saw her was on the morning of April 28, just before she left to go to work at Disney World.
Soon after word of Campbell’s disappearance got out, her story became part of the national news. Quickly, concerned individuals began sharing Campbell’s story online, as well as contact information for the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
On Saturday, April 29, Campbell was found, as confirmed by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, though investigators would not comment about whether she had been found safe, harmed, or deceased. Campbell’s friends and fellow Cast Members, however, confirmed that the Disney World Cast Member had been located in an Osceola County hotel room and that she was deceased.
Few answers led to even more questions, and almost immediately, there were calls for those making claims about Campbell’s death to reveal the sources of their information. Ultimately, Campbell’s family made a statement that was posted on the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office’s official Facebook page. It was reportedly penned by Campbell’s niece and reads as follows:
“The family appreciates everyone’s concern and condolences and asks that everyone please be respectful of their privacy during this extremely difficult time. At this time, the family will not be sharing any details about Connie’s death. Thank you.”
Per the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, there have been no signs of foul play, and the investigation into her disappearance and death is ongoing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Connie Campbell’s family and her fellow Cast Members and friends during this very difficult time.
