Casa de Coco: A Coco Themed Restaurant Opening Dates Revealed

We are going un poco loco because it is almost time to dine with Miguel! We recently reported that a Coco Themed Restaurant was in the works. At the time, very little was known about when we’d get to eat dinner with the familia inside a reimagined Coco themed restaurant. Until now, Miguel and his familia have only ever been temporary fixtures in the Parks. EPCOT has Remember Me!’ La CelebraciĂłn del DĂa de Muertos as a temporary exhibit inside the Mexico Pavilion, and during Halloween in 2017, Disneyland Paris had a Coco overlay at Fuente del Oro Restaurante.

Then, in April, it was announced that the overlay would become permanent! This makes total sense because Disneyland Paris, (more so than any other Disney Resort), has really leaned into the Pixar films making it one of the most unique Disney Parks in the world. Rather than simply a clone of the other Parks, Disneyland Paris has its own identity, and Coco will fit perfectly here.

Casa de Coco will open this weekend, July 29, 2023! Inside the restaurant, you’ll discover the Familia de Zapateros in an all new way as you visit their home for a dinner celebration! The cuisine, of course, will be Mexican food and the atmosphere will be lively.  It’s a fiesta after all!

Today Disney released photos that reveal Easter Eggs and nods to the movie (though, if the restaurant  is themed to the movie, can you really call it an Easter egg?) These little touches can be seen throughout the restaurant. From portraits of la Familia de Zapateros, to spirit guides adorning the wall and even papel picados (a traditional Mexican  garland made of paper to decorate various celebrations, particularly during Día de los Muertos).

The crown jewel of the restaurant though is Héctor’s guitar! It takes a place of pride in La Sala de Musica  and towards the back of the room, you can also read notes from pages of his diary!

We are so excited to see Miguel and the whole Familia de Zapateros finally have a permanent place to call home on Disney Parks. We hope the concept will come to Walt Disney World soon. The Mexico Pavilion has two table service restaurants, and La Hacienda de San Angel could easily have a refurbishment to become Casa de Coco! If this happens, we will be the first to let you know so stay tuned right here at Disney Dining!
