Sadly, we’ve taken our last harrowing adventure with Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot, and the gang. Guardians of the Galaxy has premiered the last ever film in the franchise. Our hearts are sad about this but Chris Pratt’s isn’t…not yet at least.
“Well, I feel I feel excited. I’m not sad yet,” Pratt said. “This is our big night to celebrate, and so I’m just trying to be present. I’m trying to be involved. I’m just trying to be here, take it all in and, and see all these shining faces and these folks dressed up like these characters.”
Some of the shining faces he saw were extra special guests. It’s no secret that Guardians of the Galaxy is beloved by fans all over the world and some of the gang’s biggest fans were able to be in attendance at the premiere. According to ETOnline: “a select group of children from the Make-A-Wish foundation and the Special Olympics getting the chance to attend and see their favorite actors in the flesh.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Pratt had a wonderfully down-to-earth attitude about the kids and it absolutely warms the heart to hear him speak so highly of this incredible bunch of children. Many of the children in attendance are fighting terminal illness. Even more are facing what’s referred to as “critical illness.” Their one wish was to meet the actors and actresses who played some of their favorite on-screen heroes.
During the course of the evening, Pratt met a little boy named Lane. He later recounted the experience saying, “To meet the kids from Make-A-Wish and meet the kids from Special Olympics who are here — it feels very good. I got this wonderful little bracelet here from our buddy. Hashtag Team Lane. Isaiah 40:31. This is what it’s all about, it’s all about that. The kid had a big smile on his face. It was his wish to be here tonight, and that wish came true cause of Make-A-Wish, and just that kind of thing right there, it’s just so meaningful.”
We couldn’t agree more. There is no more touching or noble task than to help children in the darkest moments of their life. If you’d like to help make more wishes like Lane’s come true, click here.
