Disney Cast Member Saves Guest’s Life Amid Scary Emergency

A Disney World Cast Member was recently recognized as a hero following lifesaving measures.

Walt Disney World is known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth” and thousands of Disney World Guests make their way to the four theme parks– Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom— to enjoy classic attractions, fun entertainment offerings, and much more.

Behind the scenes, there is an army of dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to bring Disney magic to life. These unsung heroes, known as Disney World Cast Members, play a vital role in creating unforgettable memories for millions of visitors each year. Disney World couldn’t operate without Cast Members and, recently, one stepped up in a major way, saving a Guest’s life.

In a social media post, one Disney Guest was saved thanks to a Disney Cast Member. This Guest started choking on a grape, and this Guest thanked Genie for saving their life. A Cast Member dressed as Genie jumped into action and saved this Guest from choking.

“But when I was young (around 1995), my family took a day trip to Disney World. I was in Magic Kingdom and started choking on a grape. My mom freaked out and my step-dad didn’t immediately see it, but the cast member dressed as the Genie snapped into action, rushed to my aid, and Heimlich maneuvered me until the grape came out.”

This is just another example of how hard Disney Cast Members work. They’re not just there to collect a paycheck but to create Disney magic for families far and wide.

• Attractions and Entertainment: Cast members operating attractions and entertainment experiences ensure the safety and enjoyment of Guests. From thrilling roller coasters to breathtaking stage shows, these individuals work diligently to make sure everything runs smoothly.
• Guest Relations: Disney World cast members in Guest relations are the friendly faces who greet Guests, answer questions, provide information, and offer assistance.
• Custodial and Maintenance: Cast members responsible for custodial and maintenance duties work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the park clean, safe, and visually stunning.

With all of these different roles, Cast Members are a main part of Disney World.
