Walt Disney World truly never fails to surprise Guests!

When it comes to theme parks, no place is able to surprise and delight fans as much as Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. With four incredible theme parks on its property, Walt Disney World brings a level of expansive entertainment that can’t be found anywhere else on Earth. This Resort has captured the hearts of millions of Guests since opening over 50 years ago, and its success isn’t slowing down any time soon.

Due to its massive popularity, Walt Disney World hosts thousands of Guests on a daily basis. Having this amount of Guests flowing throughout the Parks often makes for long wait times. Usually, it is easy to predict which rides are going to have longer lines based on their popularity and how new they are. However, these predictions are not always accurate, as seen today.

What Is Going on at Walt Disney World?!

Most of us have experienced the frustration of standing in line for what feels like an eternity, watching the minutes tick by as the anticipation builds. Usually, this is all worth it because the ride you are about to experience is one of Disney’s best and most thrilling. However, Guests visiting the Parks today entered what seemed to be an alternative reality where less popular rides have wait times over two hours and extremely popular rides were less than thirty minutes!

Opposite Day at Disney

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios on August 14, 2023, a wild scene took place. One Guest posted a screen grab of the Walt Disney World app, where wait times were all over the place. Slinky Dog Dash had a wait of 170 minutes, whereas Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run had a wait time of only 30 minutes. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance had only a 25-minute wait.  Disney describes this ride, saying;

“With the First Order desperate to extinguish the spark of the Resistance, the mission is bound to have unexpected twists and turns. When your transport is captured by an imposing First Order Star Destroyer filled with legions of stormtroopers—and even Kylo Ren!—you’re going to need all the help you can get. Fortunately, a covert team of Resistance fighters—including Rey and BB-8—is at the ready to give you a fighting chance to escape… and a chance for the Resistance to rise.”
