It’s been almost one year since the fans and family of actor and comedian Bob Saget were cast into a state of shock upon learning that the 65-year-old Full House alum was found deceased in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida.

News of Saget’s death sent shockwaves throughout Hollywood and across the country as millions of fans mourned the loss of the funny man who was best known for his role as Danny Tanner, a widowed father of three, on ABC’s Full House. Saget was in Orlando for performances of his I Don’t Do Negative comedy tour.

On Sunday, January 9, after members of Saget’s family were unable to reach him via phone or text, they contacted the staff at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Orlando and requested a welfare check. It was during that check that hotel staff discovered Saget deceased in his bed inside his hotel room, where everything appeared neat and tidy. It would be weeks before the final autopsy report showed that Saget died from blunt head trauma.

Now, nearly a year after the shocking loss of her husband, Saget’s wife Kelly Rizzo looks back over the first year without her husband. During an interview shown on Inside Edition, Rizzo, a travel and food blogger, struggled to keep her composure as she talked about missing her husband.

“When I think about the fact that I haven’t seen or talked to my husband in a year,” Rizzo said, fighting back tears, “that’s like, very surreal and very, very strange.”
