Bob Iger’s Business Rebrands Itself as “Immigrant City” in Bold Political Move

Angel City FC, the women’s professional soccer team co-owned by Disney CEO Bob Iger and his wife, journalist Willow Bay, has made a powerful statement against the Trump administration’s immigration policies. The team has officially branded itself as “Immigrant City FC” in solidarity with Los Angeles’ immigrant community, reacting to the growing tensions surrounding aggressive immigration enforcement in the city.

Iger’s Commitment to Change Beyond the Soccer Field

In response to ICE raids in Los Angeles, which have become a flashpoint in the broader debate over immigration, Angel City FC took to its official Instagram account over the Juneteenth holiday to express its concern for the immigrant community. “We are heartbroken by the fear and uncertainty many in our Los Angeles community are feeling right now,” the team’s post read, acknowledging the anxiety faced by undocumented immigrants in the area.

As part of its ongoing “Immigrant City FC” campaign, Angel City FC has made it clear that it stands for inclusivity and unity, promoting the message that “our city is stronger because of its diversity and the people and families who shape it, love it, and call it home.” The post was a direct challenge to the current administration’s policies and a call for a more welcoming and inclusive society.

“Immigrant City FC” Campaign Continues to Spread Its Message

The team’s campaign has included the distribution of 10,000 bilingual T-shirts at a recent home match, reinforcing their message of solidarity with the immigrant community in Los Angeles. Angel City FC’s actions have gone beyond just raising awareness; the team is actively supporting the community with its campaign, furthering its efforts to use soccer as a platform for social justice.

The Igers, who acquired a controlling stake in Angel City FC for around $100 million last year, are taking their ownership beyond a financial investment. The couple’s vocal stance on immigration reflects their broader commitment to social justice and using their platform to advocate for positive change in Los Angeles. Their leadership of Angel City FC shows how sports organizations are increasingly embracing their role in addressing important societal issues.

As immigration continues to dominate national debates, Angel City FC’s stance reinforces the importance of inclusivity and diversity within sports and beyond. With this campaign, the Igers and their team are standing up for a vision of Los Angeles—and America—that celebrates all people, regardless of immigration status.

  1. Far Bob iger and him and his wife can do whatever the heck, they want to do with women’s sports, and will they even give a definition of what a woman or a man is? And it’s hard to believe that he is a true Jew, but then again he is a true American Jew right?
