One of the best things about visiting a Disney Park is getting to see beloved characters come to life.
Whether riding a themed attraction or experiencing a character meet-and-greet, seeing characters such as Buzz Lightyear brought to life can really make the magic of Disney real for Guests.
Fans of the Toy Story franchise can meet Sheriff Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear in Walt Disney World and Disneyland Park alike. They can also experience a few different Toy Story attractions depending on which Disney Park they’re visiting, such as Toy Story Mania, Slinky Dog Dash, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.
However, one Disney Park’s variation of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is currently out of commission and has even been blocked off!
Across the pond in Disneyland Paris lies Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, a dark ride taking Guests on a spin through the galaxy as they shoot at various targets in an attempt to defeat the Evil Emperor Zurg.
But this beloved Toy Story attraction is currently boarded up according to a report by Inside the Magic.
On Disneyland Paris’s official website, we can see a disclaimer that reads, “As part of our continuing efforts to exceed the expectations of our Guests, this attraction is closed today.”
But Inside the Magic has pointed out that this closure will last much longer than a single day. If the ride’s boarded-up state wasn’t enough to indicate an extended closure, Inside the Magic reports that Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast is scheduled to reopen on July 12.
Star Command’s Space Rangers will soon be able to defend helpless toys and blast Zurg’s targets again!
