“Banned” Bluey Episode Still Missing From Disney+ Amid Ongoing Controversy

For a show that looks so gentle on the surface, Bluey has found itself at the center of more debate than most preschool series ever face. Parents turn it on expecting lighthearted fun, only to realize the show is quietly tackling real-life moments—awkward questions, emotional growth, and parenting missteps that feel very familiar.

That honesty is part of why Bluey has become such a phenomenon. It’s also why some episodes have proven controversial outside Australia.

Over the years, several Bluey episodes have either been edited or removed entirely from Disney+ in the United States. While some were eventually restored with changes, others never made it to the platform at all. And despite repeated speculation, those missing episodes are still not available on Disney+ today.

Why Bluey Keeps Running Into Content Issues

Most of the controversy doesn’t come from anything malicious. Instead, it stems from cultural differences and how certain topics are treated across countries. Language that’s considered harmless in Australia can carry different implications elsewhere. Even playful moments involving potty humor or imaginative role-play can raise concerns when filtered through stricter U.S. standards.

In many cases, Disney chose to edit scenes rather than remove entire episodes. Small dialogue changes or trimmed moments allowed several installments to eventually return. Those quiet edits solved some issues—but not all of them.

The Episode Disney Still Won’t Touch

The most talked-about omission remains “Dad Baby.” Unlike other episodes that were altered and later restored, this one never appeared on Disney+ in the U.S. at all.

The episode centers on Bandit pretending to be pregnant during a game with Bluey and Bingo. It’s exaggerated, silly, and very much in line with the show’s approach to play. Still, Disney opted not to host it, citing discomfort around themes tied to pregnancy and childbirth.

What frustrates fans is that Bluey has tackled similar ideas elsewhere—sometimes more seriously—without issue. That inconsistency has kept the episode in constant conversation, especially as new viewers discover the show and wonder why a single chapter is missing.

Why the Silence Feels So Loud

Disney has never formally stated whether “Dad Baby” is permanently excluded or simply on hold. There’s been no announcement, no disclaimer, and no indication that a revised version is coming.

That lack of clarity is what keeps the story alive.

As Bluey continues to dominate family viewing on Disney+, the absence becomes more noticeable, not less. Parents expecting a complete series find a gap they weren’t warned about, and longtime fans keep asking the same question: if so many other episodes were eventually restored, why not this one?

Still Missing, Still Discussed

As of now, nothing has changed. “Dad Baby” remains unavailable on Disney+ in the U.S., and no new updates suggest that’s about to shift.

For a show built on honesty and curiosity, that unresolved absence feels strangely at odds with its message. And until Disney provides a clear answer, the so-called “banned” episode of Bluey will continue to be one of the platform’s most talked-about omissions.

One Comment

  1. Just go to the official Bluey channel on YouTube. I never watch is on Disney+ any more, just YouTube. You’ll see the episodes as they were done, not as they were changed.
