Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise closed for refurbishment in March for a lengthy refurbishment of the iconic ferry boat. As of today, it is once again available to book. Sailings begin again on July 12, 2023, just in time for Happily Ever After’s return from the special Celebrate America: A Concert in the Sky fireworks in honor of Independence Day.
Ferrytale Fireworks is an incredible way to beat the crowds and experience the best of what a Disney fireworks show has to offer. We love to end our Magic Kingdom nights with fireworks, but the crowds make it anxiety-inducing with little ones. The dessert cruise takes the crowd out of the equation and just allows us to enjoy the show without worrying about little hands losing ours or ankles that stop suddenly in front of our stroller.
Your journey begins at the Transportation and Ticket Center, where you’ll board one of the Seven Seas Lagoon’s classic ferry boats. Along the way, you’ll learn interesting tidbits about the boat, the lagoon, and Magic Kingdom. There’s even a backstory (I’m a sucker for a backstory). Then feast on an array of fireworks-themed desserts like KABOOM! Cupcakes and Rocket Burst Popcorn Push-Ups to Red Velvet Wow! Pie and Grand Finale Key Lime Tarts. The build-your-own mousse station is always a hit with my family. All of the desserts are served with your choice of beverage, including specialty cocktails for those 21 and up.
The kids love the Ultraviolet Scavenger Hunt. They get a kick out of discovering clues around the boat and pretending they’re Pirates! The whole family loved the “Mickey Vision” glasses. If you remember the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, then you know just what “Mickey Vision” is. They bring the fireworks to life with dancing Mickey’s in a way that’s truly unforgettable!
When Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise returns, it will do so with a much higher price tag. Formerly, the Dessert cruise ran $99 for adults and $69 for kids. This was an incredible value for one of the best specialty dessert parties at Walt Disney World. Now, the fireworks cruise will cost $130 for adults and $100 for kids. It’s no longer an incredible value (unless the menu has been updated, but Disney has not indicated that it has been). Is it still worth it? Absolutely. You can book this experience beginning at 6:00 am up to 60 days before your trip. To book, visit the official Walt Disney World website here.
