This year has been a year of massive transition for the Disney Parks. Both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort have experienced big shifts internally that will forever change the Guest experience. 2023 has introduced exciting new attractions like TRON Lightcycle/ Run, new areas like San Fransokyo Square, and new restaurants like Tiana’s Palace.
Opposing all of the new additions, Disney has also closed down quite a few Park elements. Whether it’s the numerous renovations happening right now or the permanent closure of attractions like Splash Mountain, fans have gotten quite used to saying goodbye to beloved Park locations.
Disney Sees a Summer of Transformation
At Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, this summer has been full of construction. Now that August has come to an end, Guests are finally seeing the results of all of the summer-time closures.
Earlier today, August 31, 2023, fans celebrated the opening of San Fransokyo Square. This new Park, which is based on the world of the film Big Hero 6, has been a long-awaited addition for fans. However, it’s not the only opening that happened at Disneyland Resort today.
Over at Disneyland Park, the Mint Julep Bar has finally reopened after a lengthy hiatus. The bar, which is known for its delicious namesake drinks as well as its Mickey-shapes Beignets, is reopening in anticipation of the new Tiana’s Palace Restaurant, which will officially open on September 7, 2023.
