… and the cycle continues!
In a shocking move, the Walt Disney Company cut 7,000 jobs across its various divisions, signaling a significant transition for the entertainment giant. This news came as a blow to thousands of employees who have dedicated their careers to the magical world of Disney.
The job cuts were announced earlier this year by Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger. Iger explained that these terminations were a necessary part of Disney’s cost-cutting plans to turn the company’s financial situation around. Now, after thousands of employee cuts, Disney is looking for new employees.

First, They Fire… Now, They Hire?
Next week, Disney is holding a hiring fair. When the public heard of this news, many were confused, as it previously seemed that Disney had too many employees. Much of the confusion lies in the public’s misunderstanding of what kind of jobs were terminated earlier this year.
Right now, Disney is massively reevaluating the structure of their streaming platforms and movie studios. In the past couple of years, these entities have struggled to provide the success that Disney is looking for. On the other hand, Disney Parks have continued to flourish and remain the “favorite children” of the Walt Disney Company.
Now that the Covid-19 pandemic has reached its end, Disney is seeing the Parks continue to dazzle and delight fans while bringing in a lot of revenue for the company.
Disneyland Resort Seeking New Cast Members
It seems that Disneyland Resort is ready to expand its ever-growing team. On July 28, Disneyland Resort will be hosting a Job Fair at the Disneyland Resort Hotel from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
This is a great way to meet Disney’s recruiters and learn more about the kind of positions that are available. While now might not be the time to try and get a job at the Disney+ streaming service, it certainly is a great time to begin a career in Disney Parks.
