A Cool and Creative Way to Remember Your Happy Place

Do you know how far it is from your home to the happiest place on earth?  A big Disney geek in North Carolina has created a neat way to remember exactly how far it is.  Happy Place Signs is the creation of a guy in one of those Disney families who goes by “Doc.”  Doc told us “I had made some signs for my back yard pointing to some of my favorite destinations like Disney World and Castaway Cay, and then it just hit me – I wonder if other people would like these too?”  Doc’s wife had a shop called Twisty Mamas Tie Dyes and so he followed her lead and created Happy Place Signs.

Although Happy Place Signs started by pointing the way to the Happiest Place on Earth, Doc soon started branching out to create Disney inspired signs like the one adorning the entrance to the Magic Kingdom.  The shop has even has a Happily Ever After collection that celebrate special moments between loved-ones.  But according to Doc, the arrow signs are the most popular.  “I guess people love the simplicity of just looking in their kitchens, ‘Disney rooms’ or back yards and dreaming of their next vacation.”  Happy Place Signs also has a Facebook page and regularly posts coupon codes for their followers.

About Rick Killingsworth

Rick visited the Magic Kingdom in 1971 for the first Christmas parade in their history. At nine years old, he was bitten by the Disney Bug. He can still remember the sights, the smells, and the sounds. It truly was magical. It would be twenty years before he could afford to take his young family back to “The World.” It was the vacation of a lifetime, and they have been fortunate to go hundreds of times since. His daughters, now grown, still tear up when they see the castle (as does he).
