One of Walt Disney World’s longest-running traditions is becoming a little more exclusive.
For more than five decades, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue has entertained guests at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Held inside Pioneer Hall, the Western-themed dinner show features singing, dancing, slapstick comedy, and an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal of fried chicken, barbecue ribs, and strawberry shortcake.

The show debuted on June 30, 1974, less than three years after Magic Kingdom opened. Originally intended as a temporary summer production featuring six college interns, it proved so successful that Disney introduced a permanent cast that September.
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue has remained remarkably consistent ever since. Although the COVID-19 pandemic forced an extended hiatus before its June 2022 reopening, the production celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024.
Now, Disney is preparing to bring back a special version of the show for the Christmas season — but certain guests won’t be able to book it.
Disney Reserves Historic Dinner Show for Exclusive Holiday Events
Disney Vacation Club has confirmed the return of Hoop Dee Holidays, a seasonal version of Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue reserved for eligible members and their guests.
The 2026 events will take place on December 1 and December 8, giving members just two dates to experience the festive production at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
Unlike regular performances, which are available to the general public, these special holiday events require an eligible Disney Vacation Club membership to make a reservation.
The event isn’t entirely new. Disney first introduced Hoop Dee Holidays in 2023, with performances on November 28 and December 12. It has since returned for subsequent Christmas seasons, including December 2025.
Disney Vacation Club Hoop Dee Holidays returns to Fort Wilderness for 2026. The Member-exclusive show runs two nights only, December 1 and December 8, and booking is open now through Member Services.

Past versions have featured additional holiday entertainment, a special pre-show for members, and a commemorative keepsake. These exclusive extras accompany the familiar Pioneer Hall feast and live performance.
Previous events have also imposed specific membership requirements. In 2025, bookings were limited to Disney Vacation Club owners eligible for Membership Extras, with members permitted to bring up to 11 additional guests.
This meant nonmembers could still attend, provided they accompanied an eligible member. Individual reservations were unavailable to guests without access to a qualifying Disney Vacation Club membership.
Reservations for this year’s events are already open through Disney Vacation Club Member Services. However, the initial announcement does not specify 2026 pricing or confirm whether all previous guest limits and event extras will return.
Regular Hoop-Dee-Doo Performances Remain Available
Fortunately, the membership restriction doesn’t apply to every performance of Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.
The traditional dinner show remains available to other Walt Disney World guests, with Disney’s official website listing its usual seating times of 4 p.m., 6:15 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. on operating days.

Reservations are generally available up to 60 days in advance, with advance payment required. Guests can choose between three seating categories, while those using the Disney Dining Plan can redeem two Table-Service meals per person.
The regular production lasts approximately two hours and features the Pioneer Hall Players performing a mixture of musical numbers, comedy sketches, and audience participation.
According to Disney’s D23, the show has undergone relatively few major changes since its 1974 debut. One notable exception came in 1979, when strawberry shortcake replaced apple pie as the dinner’s signature dessert.
The special holiday performances are therefore a relatively rare variation of a show that has otherwise maintained much of its original format for more than half a century.
Hoop Dee Holidays also arrives during one of Walt Disney World’s busiest seasonal celebrations.
This year’s Christmas festivities include Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom, running on select nights from November 8 through December 22. Disney Jollywood Nights also returns to Hollywood Studios, with performances extending into January 2027.
At EPCOT, guests can experience the International Festival of the Holidays, while Disney Springs is welcoming back its Christmas Tree Stroll. Seasonal decorations, entertainment, and food offerings will also appear across Disney’s resort hotels.

Unlike Hoop Dee Holidays, these other festive experiences do not require Disney Vacation Club membership, although certain events require separate paid admission.
The distinction is important for guests hoping to visit Pioneer Hall in December. Disney hasn’t made Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue a members-only attraction permanently, and its standard performances remain open for reservations.
However, anyone hoping to experience its limited Christmas makeover on December 1 or December 8 will need access to an eligible Disney Vacation Club membership to secure a booking.
