A popular Disney World experience is finally making its way back to Magic Kingdom, and visitors staying at certain hotels could have a major advantage when the new year arrives.
Disney World vacations can already feel like a race against the clock. Between long attraction lines, dining reservations, and nighttime entertainment, families often struggle to fit everything into a single park day.

Fortunately, Disney is bringing back an offering that gives qualifying visitors more time to explore Magic Kingdom without purchasing a separate after-hours event ticket.
And after disappearing from the park’s schedule for several months, its return is welcome news.
Disney World Restores Popular Magic Kingdom Benefit
Beginning Wednesday, January 6, 2027, Magic Kingdom will once again offer Extended Evening Hours to eligible resort guests.
The special operating period runs from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., providing two additional hours inside the park.
Unlike Disney After Hours events, which require separate admission, Extended Evening Hours are an included benefit for guests staying at participating hotels who meet the necessary admission requirements.
For qualifying visitors, that means more time to experience Magic Kingdom without paying an additional event admission fee.

The benefit has been missing from Magic Kingdom since September 9, 2026.
Disney temporarily suspended it at the park while Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party occupied select evenings.
Rather than eliminating Extended Evening Hours altogether, Disney offered the perk at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom during Magic Kingdom’s seasonal break.
With those holiday celebrations wrapping up, the popular nighttime experience is returning to its familiar location.
Popular Disney Attractions Will Remain Available
The returning benefit isn’t limited to a handful of rides.
Disney has scheduled 23 Magic Kingdom attractions to operate during Extended Evening Hours, giving eligible guests a wide selection of experiences.
Thrill seekers can look forward to TRON Lightcycle / Run, Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Meanwhile, Disney classics such as Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan’s Flight, and “it’s a small world” are also included.
Other scheduled experiences include Tomorrowland Speedway, The Barnstormer, Mad Tea Party, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, and Country Bear Musical Jamboree.
This variety means families won’t necessarily have to focus entirely on major thrill rides.
Guests who prefer slower attractions and traditional Disney experiences will also have several choices.
Of course, scheduled operations can change, so visitors should check attraction availability before making their evening plans.
The Catch: Not Everyone Gets Two Extra Hours
Although the announcement sounds appealing, Disney World visitors should understand that Extended Evening Hours are an exclusive hotel benefit.
Guests staying at participating Disney Deluxe Resorts and Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts qualify, along with visitors at a small number of additional hotels.
Participating properties include Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

Several Disney Vacation Club accommodations also qualify, including Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
The Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, Dolphin Hotel, Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green are also eligible.
However, guests staying at Disney’s more affordable Value and Moderate Resorts generally cannot participate.
That means two families visiting Magic Kingdom on the same day could have very different experiences depending on where they are staying.
January Visitors Have Another Reason to Plan Ahead
Extended Evening Hours can be especially helpful for guests hoping to experience popular Magic Kingdom attractions without spending their entire day waiting in lines.
However, the benefit won’t necessarily make an expensive hotel stay worthwhile for everyone.
Families traveling with younger children may prefer earlier evenings, while visitors who enjoy late-night park touring could find the extra time particularly appealing.
For now, January 6 is the announced return date, and guests should continue monitoring Disney World’s official calendar for future offerings.
After nearly four months away from Magic Kingdom, Extended Evening Hours are finally coming back, giving eligible visitors another opportunity to enjoy the park after regular closing.
