New James Bond Project Arriving This Month

James Bond will be heading back to school in Young Bond: SilverFin, an upcoming audio drama based on Charlie Higson’s 2005 novel. Now, a new video from Big Finish Productions features Isaac Rouse visiting Eton as part of the promotion for the series.

Rouse, who appeared in Season 6 of The Crown, voices the teenage 007 in the production, alongside Charlotte McBurney as Wilder Lawless. He is joined by a growing ensemble cast, with Big Finish now confirming several additional performers for the adaptation.

The cast also includes Harry Marcus as Red Kelly and Christopher Nathan as George Hellebore.

Miriam Margolyes, recognised by many audiences for playing Professor Sprout in the Harry Potter films, voices Cleek MacSawney. Author Charlie Higson himself also takes a role in the production, voicing Michael Merriot, Bond’s mentor.

The audio drama adapts the first novel in Higson’s Young Bond series, which introduced readers to 007’s teenage years.

The official synopsis describes an adventure that begins on Bond’s first day at a new school, where he encounters his first enemy before becoming embroiled in a dangerous mystery.

“On his first day at his new school, James Bond is about to make his very first enemy, and is soon plunged into a deadly adventure that will take him from the playing fields of Eton to the murky waters of Loch Silverfin…,” the synopsis states. It adds: “A monstrous secret lurks beneath its icy surface… a secret that threatens to plunge the world into a new era of warfare.”

Titled “James Bond goes to Eton,” the newly released video features Rouse at the real-life school during a photo shoot.

Young Bond: SilverFin will be released across two box sets on October 29. The production comprises 16 half-hour episodes, amounting to roughly eight hours of full-cast audio drama.
