All Guests Forced To Exit Hollywood Studios Tomorrow as Private Company Buys Disney World Park
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will close four hours early tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20, 2026, as the park is handed over to a private corporate event tied to a major technology conference taking place at Walt Disney World this week.
The park will stop operating for regular day guests at 5 p.m. rather than its usual 9 p.m. closing time, after which it will be reserved exclusively for invited attendees.

Gartner Returns to Hollywood Studios
The evening is being hosted by Gartner as part of Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo 2026, which got underway today, October 19, at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. The conference wraps up on October 22.
Tomorrow night’s event will give conference attendees exclusive access to the park outside its standard public hours. It also marks something of a return engagement, as Gartner held a comparable early-closure event at Hollywood Studios in October 2023.
Tuesday’s Operating Hours at a Glance
For day guests, tomorrow breaks down as follows: Early Theme Park Entry for eligible Disney Resort hotel guests at 8:30 a.m., general park opening at 9 a.m., and closing to the public at 5 p.m. Once 5 p.m. arrives, guests who are not part of the private event will be directed out of the park.
That leaves ticketed guests with an eight-hour day at a park that typically fills a full day on its own.
Fantasmic! Off the Schedule
The most visible casualty of the early closure is Hollywood Studios’ nighttime lineup. Fantasmic! is not scheduled to perform for regular guests tomorrow evening, a disappointment for anyone who had planned their October 20 visit around the show.
The shortened day also removes the evening dip in wait times that guests often count on. Headliners, including Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, should be tackled as early as possible, with the expectation that lines will not ease up later in the day.

Ripple Effects Across the Resort
The early closure could push some of the evening crowd toward Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom tomorrow, though the scale of that shift remains unclear.
For guests who have not yet locked in their plans, two alternatives stand out: spend Tuesday at a different Walt Disney World park, or move the Hollywood Studios day to later in the week.
A Growing List of Park Takeovers
Tomorrow’s event is the latest in a long line of private buyouts at Walt Disney World. In one of the higher-profile examples, Hollywood Studios closed early on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, for attendees of the SAP Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference Orlando, which took place June 3 to 5 at the Orange County Convention Center. Maroon 5 headlined a private concert inside the park that night, while day guests experienced the same pattern planned for tomorrow, with a regular 9 a.m. opening and an early close.
SAP Sapphire has since moved its event to other parks. EPCOT played host in 2025 with a Zac Brown Band performance, and Magic Kingdom followed in May 2026, with Dave Matthews Band closing out the conference.
Another Wrinkle in a Busy October
The Gartner buyout adds to an October calendar already crowded with schedule changes. Halloween events and other special occasions continue to affect access to certain Walt Disney World parks throughout the month. The takeaway for guests is that published hours can and do change, and a valid ticket does not always mean access to a park for its full regular operating day.

What This Means for You
Guests visiting Hollywood Studios tomorrow should arrive at 8:30 a.m. for Early Theme Park Entry if eligible, or by 9 a.m. for general admission. Ride the major attractions first and plan to leave the park before 5 p.m.
Anyone whose plans centered on Fantasmic! or an evening in Galaxy’s Edge may want to swap Hollywood Studios for another park tomorrow and visit later this week. Before heading out, check the official Walt Disney World park calendar and the My Disney Experience app, as hours and entertainment can change at short notice.
