Disney World Makes Sudden Changes to ‘Toy Story’ Land as New Interactive Elements Arrive

Disney World guests have a new reason to slow down while walking through Andy’s backyard.

Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios already packs several rides, colorful details, and larger-than-life toys into the area. Now, Disney has added another experience that visitors don’t have to wait in an attraction line to enjoy.

The latest addition combines games, videos, graphics, and an expanded musical lineup while introducing a character from Toy Story 5 (2026) to the land.

Her name is Lilypad, and Disney is putting the frog-shaped smart tablet to work in several different ways.

The Newest Toy Has Entered the Backyard

Lilypad represents a different kind of character for Toy Story Land.

The frog-shaped smart tablet comes directly from Toy Story 5 (2026), where technology plays an important role in the latest adventure involving Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Rex, and the other toys.

At Disney World, Lilypad doesn’t roam Toy Story Land like a traditional character. Instead, guests can find her on a large screen.

That setup allows Disney to bring the character into the park while giving her more to do than simply appear on-screen. Lilypad offers several activities throughout the day, making her another entertainment option for guests exploring the land.

Some of those activities put visitors directly into the action.

There Is More to Do Without Entering a Queue

Guests can interact with several games involving familiar Toy Story characters.

Lilypad sometimes uses her drawing app to doodle a character, leaving visitors to guess who she’s creating. Another game involves unscrambling puzzles that reveal characters such as Partysaurus Rex.

The screen also displays “home videos” from the world of the toys. One example features Forky and Karen Beverly’s wedding.

Those additions give families another way to pass the time without committing to another attraction.

Parents may stay behind with younger children while other family members ride. Someone might be waiting for food, or a group might simply want a break before joining another queue.

Lilypad gives those visitors games and videos to watch while they wait.

But the screen isn’t only about games. Music plays a major role in the experience, too.

Familiar Songs Get a New Spin

Lilypad brings an expanded playlist to Toy Story Land featuring remixed favorites and newer additions.

Different record graphics appear on the screen as songs play.

“Hay Un Amigo En Mi” comes with a red Buzz Lightyear album, while “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away” uses a blue record featuring Forky. A black record decorated with the Pixar ball accompanies “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”

Guests can also hear a Woody’s Roundup remix represented by a red record featuring Woody and Bullseye.

The playlist doesn’t rely entirely on familiar music, though.

“Spin It Back, Lilypad” is a new song created specifically for Alien Swirling Saucers. Its green record appropriately puts Lilypad front and center.

“Pizza Planet Promo” offers another new addition. The song serves as a theme for the famous pizza restaurant, while its record resembles a pizza with a Little Green Alien sitting in the middle.

Then Disney digs a little deeper into Toy Story history.

A Few Surprises Join the Playlist

The “Partysaurus Rex Anthem” references Partysaurus Rex (2012), the animated short in which Rex discovers his more playful side.

Lilypad’s playlist also reaches directly into Toy Story 5 (2026).

Guests can hear an instrumental version of “I Knew It, I Knew You,” the Taylor Swift song created for the movie.

“Buzz Beats!” joins the rotation with a blue Star Command record, while “We Belong Together” plays alongside a red album featuring several Toy Story characters.

Disney breaks up the music with Lilypad’s activities, videos, and graphics, creating a rotating experience instead of simply playing songs one after another.

Three Attractions Are Still Waiting Nearby

Of course, Lilypad isn’t replacing the attractions that already make up Toy Story Land.

Toy Story Mania! lets guests compete through carnival-inspired games, while Slinky Dog Dash sends families around Andy’s backyard aboard the land’s coaster.

Alien Swirling Saucers adds another option, with the Little Green Aliens sending riders spinning around their playset.

Guests looking to sit down for a meal can also visit Roundup Rodeo BBQ, the table-service restaurant built around Andy’s rodeo theme.

Lilypad simply adds another layer between those experiences.

Toy Story Land Adds Something Different

Disney didn’t have to build another major ride to bring a piece of Toy Story 5 (2026) into Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Lilypad connects the newest movie with a land that already celebrates the larger franchise, while giving visitors games, videos, graphics, and more music to enjoy.

For families waiting between rides, grabbing food, or taking a break, that means there is now a little more happening around Andy’s backyard.

And unlike the land’s biggest attractions, guests don’t need to join another queue to experience it.
