Disney’s Live-Action ‘Frozen’ Remake Could Cast Milly Alcock as Elsa
Could Supergirl (2026) star Milly Alcock become Disney’s live-action Elsa?
While a live-action Frozen remake hasn’t even been announced, Disney is showing no signs of slowing down its efforts to bring its animated classics into the real world.
With projects such as Snow White (2025), Lilo & Stitch (2025), and Moana (2026) continuing the studio’s long-running remake strategy (and not to mention the upcoming Tangled remake), it feels increasingly likely that even more beloved animated films could eventually receive live-action adaptations.

And if Disney does one day decide to bring Frozen (2013) to life, one question will immediately dominate the conversation: who should play Elsa?
One unexpected name fans could potentially discuss is Supergirl star Milly Alcock.
Of course, there’s currently no indication that Alcock is being considered for the role, and Disney has not announced plans for a live-action Frozen remake. However, the actress’ career has followed a path that feels surprisingly familiar.

Before Rachel Zegler became the face of Snow White (2025), she appeared in the DC Extended Universe film Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023) as Anthea, one of the daughters of Atlas.
The superhero sequel became one of DC’s biggest recent commercial disappointments, earning $134.1 million worldwide against a reported production budget of around $125 million before marketing.
Despite that setback, Zegler still found herself leading one of Disney’s most recognizable live-action adaptations.

Milly Alcock now finds herself in a similar position. After becoming a breakout star in House of the Dragon, she was chosen to play Kara Zor-El in Supergirl (2026), becoming one of the faces of James Gunn’s new DC Universe.
However, Supergirl has struggled to match expectations, earning $116 million worldwide against an estimated budget of $170-186 million, while Alcock’s performance and comments during the film’s press tour have also sparked debate among some fans, with some even comparing her to Zegler, who sparked controversy before Snow White (2025) was released.

That doesn’t mean Alcock’s career is in trouble, though. Hollywood history is filled with actors who have moved on from underperforming projects to bigger opportunities.
Naomi Scott, for example, starred in the somewhat-unsuccessful Power Rangers (2017) before playing Jasmine in Disney’s live-action Aladdin (2019), which became a billion-dollar box-office success.
Whether Milly Alcock could eventually follow a similar path and become Disney’s live-action Elsa remains completely speculative. For now, her future is still firmly connected to the DC Universe, with the actress set to return in Gunn’s Superman: Man of Tomorrow (2027).
Still, if Disney ever decides to adapt Frozen for live-action, Alcock’s name may be one worth watching.
Do you think Milly Alcock could eventually follow Rachel Zegler’s path from DC to Disney? And if Disney ever does remake Frozen, who should play Elsa? Let us know in the comments!
