Construction activity at EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion is continuing to grow, with new permit documents suggesting work will remain active well into next year.

Located between the Italy and China pavilions, Germany has welcomed EPCOT guests since the park debuted in 1982. Designed to resemble a traditional German village, the pavilion features cobblestone walkways, specialty shopping, and dining locations, including Biergarten Restaurant. One of its best-known retail spaces is Stein Haus, where guests can browse German steins, glassware, ornaments, and other imported merchandise.
Earlier this month, visible construction expanded around the storefront. Rolling planters, construction walls, scrim, and scaffolding first appeared around the entrance before the work zone spread to include the second-floor balcony, decorative staircase, and the pavilion’s recognizable “Stein Haus” sign. Even with the exterior work increasing, the store has continued operating by directing guests through alternate entrances, including the nearby Weinkeller doorway. Disney has not announced any closures or explained the nature of the refurbishment.
The project joins a growing list of maintenance and refurbishment efforts across EPCOT. Although Disney wrapped up its sweeping transformation of the former Future World into World Celebration, World Discovery, and World Nature, work has continued throughout World Showcase. In recent years, several pavilions have received restoration projects and routine maintenance aimed at preserving the themed environments while keeping guest areas operational.

Freshly filed Orange County records now indicate the Germany Pavilion work is expected to continue for some time. Disney has submitted an amendment to an existing Notice of Commencement covering general construction at 1750 Avenue of the Stars, an address associated with EPCOT. The updated filing identifies MSG Legacy, Inc., operating as RSS Roofing Services and Solutions Florida, as the contractor and extends the notice through January 29, 2027, unless the project concludes earlier or another amendment is submitted.
While Notices of Commencement typically do not outline the exact work being performed, they are required before construction projects can begin or continue in Florida and frequently indicate that active work remains in progress. Although the document does not specifically reference Stein Haus or detail the refurbishment, its timeline matches the increasingly visible construction around the Germany Pavilion.
Because the listed contractor specializes in roofing and exterior construction, the filing appears consistent with the work guests are currently seeing. Disney has not confirmed whether the project involves anything beyond standard exterior refurbishment, and for now, there is no indication that the pavilion is receiving a large-scale redesign. Until additional permits are filed or Disney releases more information, the work appears focused on maintaining one of EPCOT’s most recognizable World Showcase destinations.
