Germany Area Closed at EPCOT, Disney World Stays Silent

Construction equipment has quietly appeared around one of the Germany World Showcase Pavilion’s most recognizable storefronts at EPCOT. However, Walt Disney World Resort isn’t saying a word about what’s being done.

WDWNT reported on Tuesday that rolling planters, scrim-covered scaffolding, and a construction wall have appeared around the main entrance to Stein Haus in the Germany World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. The rolling planters block the primary entry to the shop and extend to connect with a construction wall behind a nearby flowerbed. Two sections of scaffolding — each wrapped in scrim fabric with extending poles covered to match — are now visible around the building, with one section visible above the rolling planters near the “Weinkeller” entrance on the opposite side of the shop.

The arrangement is consistent with the early staging Walt Disney World Resort typically uses before committing to a full exterior refurbishment. Still, Disney has not issued any statement about the work, which is entirely in keeping with how the Central Florida vacation destination handles construction that doesn’t force a guest-facing closure. No refurbishment timeline has been shared, and no details about the scope of the facade refurbishment have been made public.

Guests Can Still Shop

The construction presence around the main entrance hasn’t shuttered Stein Haus. The Germany World Showcase Pavilion merchandise location remains accessible through alternate entrances, including the “Weinkeller” facade. It continues to sell its mix of Germany-themed Disney goods and imported products — the beer steins the shop is named for among them.

Standard hours run 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., though guests should confirm current operating times on the Walt Disney World Resort website or through the My Disney Experience app before making a specific trip to the Germany World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT.
