The construction barriers in the Germany World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT have grown considerably since they first appeared last week, blocking access to parts of the area that were still open just days ago.
The Barriers Keep Growing

WDWNT reported on July 2 that the construction zone surrounding the Stein Haus entrance in the Germany World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT had expanded significantly overnight. Rolling planters have been repositioned to cut off more of the walkway, and fresh scrim-covered scaffolding now conceals features that had previously been visible — including the second-floor balcony, the faux stairs, and the “Stein Haus” sign.
A potted plant in a black container has been wedged into a gap between the barriers to close off an opening between the rolling planters, construction walls, and scaffolding. The temporary construction zone has also begun to absorb part of the nearby landscaped garden area.
The first signs of construction appeared in late June, when rolling planters and a small section of scaffolding showed up around the main entrance to Stein Haus.

Walt Disney World Resort has not acknowledged the project publicly, which is standard for the Central Florida vacation destination when handling cosmetic work that doesn’t require attraction shutdowns or significant guest rerouting.
Getting Into the Germany Pavilion Gift Shop

The expanding construction presence hasn’t closed Stein Haus entirely. The Germany Pavilion gift shop — home to Germany-themed Disney merchandise, imported goods, and the beer steins its name promises — remains accessible through the alternate “Weinkeller” entrance on the opposite side of the building. The merchandise location’s interior operations appear completely unaffected by the exterior work.
