Dolly Parton Just Opened Her Newest Attraction, and It Never Closes
If you’re road tripping through Middle Tennessee anytime soon, there’s a new stop worth adding to your route. Dolly Parton just opened Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee, and it’s open 24 hours a day, every single day of the year.
The location sits right along Interstate 65, about an hour south of Nashville. So if you’re heading toward Nashville, into Alabama, or really anywhere along that stretch of I-65, this is basically right on your way.
What’s Actually There
Let’s start with the food, because there’s a lot of it. There’s a coffee station called Cup of Ambition serving everything from espresso to hot chocolate, plus Dolly’s own cinnamon bread and banana pudding donuts. If you want a real sit-down meal, the onsite restaurant has a full Southern-style menu with fried chicken, barbecue, omelets, and even a make-your-own pizza option.
There’s also a dedicated barbecue stand called DLYBBQ that’s open all day, every day, and an ice cream counter for anyone who needs a milkshake mid-drive.
But this isn’t just a gas station with snacks. There are event stages, a touring bus on display, murals all over the property, and even a back patio for hanging out. The events calendar lists live music every day, including a recurring Dolly-themed karaoke night called Dollyoke.
The Practical Stuff
For the road trip essentials, there’s separate fueling and parking for cars and big trucks, electric vehicle charging stations, and a lounge specifically for truckers. There’s also a dog park on site, which is a nice touch if you’re traveling with a pet.
And if you want a souvenir, there’s a general store stocked with Dolly Parton merchandise.
Why This Matters Beyond Just One Stop
It’s worth zooming out for a second here. Dollywood has been a massive draw for East Tennessee tourism for decades now, pulling visitors into Pigeon Forge and the surrounding Smoky Mountains area in a way that supports hotels, restaurants, and local businesses well beyond the park gates itself. This year alone, Dollywood is celebrating its 40th anniversary with new additions like the upcoming NightFlight Expedition, a coaster and whitewater hybrid ride.
This new travel stop isn’t trying to compete with any of that. It’s more like an extension of it, bringing a taste of the Dolly experience to a part of the state Dollywood doesn’t reach. Cornersville is about two and a half hours from Pigeon Forge, so this gives travelers a stop of their own without needing to make the trip east.
The Bigger Picture for Dolly
This travel stop comes at a time when Parton’s presence across Tennessee just keeps growing. She’s also opening the SongTeller Hotel in Nashville later this year, on top of everything happening at Dollywood for its big anniversary year.
If you’re planning a drive through Middle Tennessee, the address is 3686 Pulaski Highway, Cornersville, TN 37047. Whether you’re stopping for the cinnamon bread, the barbecue, or just to see what a Dolly Parton-branded rest stop actually looks like, it’s a pretty fun reason to break up your drive.
