Dolly Parton Is Expanding Beyond Dollywood Once Again

We cover theme parks and Disney food and resort experiences, and every so often something comes across our radar that is not technically in our lane but is absolutely in our spirit. Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel opening in Nashville this September is one of those things. Because if you have been to Dollywood, you already understand exactly what this is going to be, and if you have not been to Dollywood, that is its own conversation we need to have.

Let us talk about both.

First, Dollywood, Because It Explains Everything

Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is one of the most beloved theme parks in the country. We say that without hesitation. The Themed Entertainment Association has given it its Applause Award, which is one of the highest recognitions in the industry, and the park has earned it repeatedly. Tens of millions of people have visited and the reviews read the same way almost every time: it feels personal. It feels genuine. It feels like a place where someone actually cared about what was built rather than just what it would earn.

That someone is Dolly. And the reason Dollywood works the way it does is because her actual story, her Smoky Mountain upbringing, her musical journey, her family, her values, is embedded into the park at every level. The biographical depth is not decorative. It is structural.

So when we tell you that Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel is opening in Nashville this September and it has a museum on the third floor and a piano bar named Jolene and suites decorated with her actual guitars, you should understand that this is not a celebrity hotel situation. This is Dollywood in a different format in a different city. The DNA is the same.

What Dolly Actually Said About It

The hotel’s website includes a statement from Dolly and we want to share it in full because it is genuinely lovely.

“Nashville, I Will Always Love You. All my life, I’ve been a SongTeller. And there’s no better place to write a song than Nashville. SongTeller Hotel is my love letter to the city. It’s a place where musicians and guests will come together to experience Music City’s inspiring spirit. From intimate venues to eclectic, yet sophisticated rooms and suites, I’ve poured my heart into this new song, and I’m dedicating it to you, Nashville.”

She opened with the title of her most famous song and closed by calling the hotel a song dedicated to a city. If that does not tell you everything about what this place is going to feel like, we do not know what will.

The Rooms, Because They Are Incredible

Five room and suite categories, each one more immersive than the last.

Signature Rooms are the starting point and already feature meaningful Dolly Parton photography and design throughout. Signature Suites take it up with a large-scale portrait of Dolly that greets you when you walk in. That is an entrance.

The Acoustic Suites are where things get genuinely exciting for anyone who cares about music history. Some of Dolly’s actual guitars are incorporated into the design of these rooms. Actual guitars. In a hotel room. We are not over it.

The Six Sister Suites might be the most emotionally resonant category in the hotel. Dedicated to Dolly’s five sisters, these rooms sleep six across three beds, designed specifically so six people can share the experience together. The personal backstory makes the room feel like an invitation rather than a product.

And then there is the SongTeller Suite. Dolly’s signature aesthetic in full force: a fabulous chair, a couch, a fireplace, photographs everywhere, and more details than we have space to list here. This is the room you save up for. You know the one.

The Dining, the Bar, and the Museum

Parton’s Live is the hotel’s main dining experience, combining food and signature cocktails with live music. Nashville has a lot of live music venues. This one has Dolly’s name on it and backing to match, which puts it in a different category from the start.

Jolene’s is the piano bar and lounge, and naming it Jolene is one of those perfect decisions that makes you realize the people behind this actually thought about it. A piano bar called Jolene in a Nashville music hotel named after the concept of telling stories through song. It just works.

The thing we are most excited about is Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum on the third floor. This invites guests to experience Dolly Parton’s career and personal memories through her own eyes. The name references Coat of Many Colors, which is the song and film Dolly has spoken about as one of the most personal pieces of work in her entire career. Having a museum like this inside a hotel, available to guests and potentially to visitors from outside, turns the SongTeller into something more than a place to stay. It is a place to understand someone’s life.

Why This Should Be on Your Tennessee Trip List

If you have never been to Dollywood, a Tennessee trip that combines both would give you the full picture of what Dolly has built in her home state. Pigeon Forge and Nashville are a few hours apart. An itinerary that includes Dollywood and a night or two at the SongTeller Hotel hits both ends of what she has created in a state that has shaped her entire story.

If you have been to Dollywood and love it for all the reasons it deserves to be loved, the SongTeller Hotel is going to feel immediately familiar in the best way. Same person. Same intention. Different city, different format, same result.

Bookings are open now ahead of the mid-September 2026 opening. Nashville hotel demand is real, especially for a debut this well-positioned, and early booking is worth considering rather than assuming availability will hold.

If you are building a Tennessee trip that includes Dollywood, the SongTeller Hotel, or both, drop it in the comments with your dates and your group. We love helping plan trips like this and we will get back to you with something actually useful.
