Guests booking a stay near EPCOT over the next several months may notice that one of Disney World’s most popular resort districts looks a little different than usual.
The Crescent Lake area, home to Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, is currently in the middle of multiple refurbishment projects that are reshaping parts of the guest experience. While all three resorts remain open, construction activity has become increasingly visible throughout the area.
Beach Club is among the locations seeing the most noticeable work. Disney has confirmed that exterior maintenance will continue through late 2027, meaning guests can expect to see scaffolding, construction equipment, and temporary pathway adjustments in certain areas. Daytime work may also create occasional noise throughout portions of the resort.
Just steps away, Yacht Club is going through similar updates. Exterior refurbishment work is expected to continue through late 2026. In addition to the construction taking place outside, guests visiting the resort will also find Yachtsman Steakhouse temporarily closed. The popular signature restaurant is undergoing refurbishment and is expected to remain unavailable through August 2026.
The biggest collection of changes, however, may be taking place at BoardWalk.
Over the past few years, BoardWalk has slowly transformed from one of Disney World’s busiest nightlife destinations into an area filled with construction walls and unanswered questions. Exterior refurbishment work continues throughout the resort, but that’s only one piece of the puzzle.
Jellyrolls, the longtime dueling piano bar that entertained guests for decades, officially closed and relocated away from Disney property. Since then, work has continued on the former location, though Disney has not announced what will eventually take its place.
Nearby, the former Big River Grille & Brewing Works building remains empty after closing in 2024. Recent permit activity suggests Disney may finally be preparing something for the waterfront space, though official details remain under wraps.
Promenade Fine Art Gallery has also departed its longtime location, creating another vacancy along the BoardWalk.
More disruption is on the way in 2027 when the Luna Park Pool, play area, and Leaping Horse Libations close temporarily for refurbishment. Guests will still have access to alternative pools, but the closure removes one of the resort’s signature amenities for several months.
Transportation will also be affected early next year when the Disney Skyliner undergoes its annual refurbishment. While replacement buses will be available, guests who enjoy easy Skyliner access from International Gateway may need to adjust their plans.
Taken together, the projects represent one of the largest periods of change the EPCOT resort area has experienced in years. For returning visitors, Crescent Lake may look very different than it did on previous vacations, but Disney appears committed to investing heavily in the future of these popular deluxe resorts.
