Guests Already Defacing Disney’s Brand-New Muppet Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Reboot

Disney’s Hollywood Studios finally reopened Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets after months of anticipation, and fans wasted no time heading to the park to experience the updated attraction. The newly reimagined coaster officially debuted on May 26, 2026, bringing an entirely different storyline to one of Disney World’s most recognizable thrill rides.

But the excitement surrounding the opening has already been overshadowed by frustration online.

Only days after the attraction reopened, guests began noticing visible damage throughout sections of the queue. Photos quickly spread across social media, leaving many Disney fans surprised that a newly refreshed experience already appeared worn down.

Now, the situation has sparked a larger conversation about guest behavior inside the parks and how quickly brand-new additions can fall apart.

Disney Gave the Coaster a Completely New Theme

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster spent months closed while Disney transformed the attraction from its longtime Aerosmith theme into a Muppets experience. For years, the coaster remained one of the most popular thrill rides at Walt Disney World, largely because of its high-speed launch and intense indoor ride layout.

Disney decided to keep the ride system itself mostly intact while replacing the story, queue, and preshow elements.

Instead of guests racing to an Aerosmith concert, riders now enter a chaotic backstage Muppets production before boarding the limousine-style coaster. The attraction leans heavily into classic Muppet humor, with backstage confusion and comedy carrying guests through the experience before the launch.

Opening week brought heavy crowds to Disney’s Hollywood Studios as fans rushed to experience the updated attraction. Social media quickly filled with reactions, debates, and reviews from guests who finally got to ride the new version.

While some longtime fans still miss Aerosmith, many guests praised Disney for giving the coaster a fresh identity without altering the actual thrill ride.

That excitement makes the recent damage even more disappointing for many visitors.

Reports of Damage Started Appearing Online

Shortly after the attraction opened, reports began circulating that sections of paint along the queue were already peeling.

Guests shared photos online showing strips of gray paint removed from walls and columns throughout parts of the queue area. In several spots, the outer layer appeared completely torn away, exposing the layer underneath.

According to online guest reports, once people realized the paint could peel off easily, more sections of the queue began showing damage.

Some columns reportedly suffered the worst, with long peeling streaks stretching across portions of the surface. Other walls throughout the queue also appeared scratched and damaged only days after opening.

Many Disney fans online reacted with frustration once the photos spread.

Some blamed guests for intentionally damaging the attraction, while others questioned how the paint could peel so easily in the first place. Several fans pointed out that Disney had only recently reopened the attraction, making the damage even harder to believe.

The photos quickly became one of the most talked-about topics surrounding the coaster’s reopening.

Disney Has Already Patched Some Areas

Disney has already started addressing parts of the damaged queue.

Guests visiting the attraction recently noticed fresh paint covering several damaged spots throughout the area. Some of the larger peeling sections now appear patched compared to earlier photos shared online.

However, other damaged sections remain visible.

Guests continue spotting peeling areas throughout portions of the queue, particularly along some of the larger columns. In a few places, the repaired sections stand out because the paint color does not match the surrounding walls perfectly.

At this point, it remains unclear how much effort Disney plans to dedicate toward ongoing repairs.

The company could continue repainting damaged areas as they appear, but some fans wonder whether Disney will eventually stop patching smaller sections if the peeling continues.

Fans Say the Situation Reflects a Bigger Problem

For many Disney fans, the frustration extends beyond peeling paint.

Online reactions surrounding the coaster have turned into broader conversations about guest behavior throughout the parks. Over the past several years, incidents involving damaged queue spaces, stolen props, and disruptive behavior have become increasingly common topics of discussion among longtime visitors.

That larger trend is part of why this situation has generated so much attention online.

Fans waited months for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets to open, and many viewed it as one of the biggest updates currently happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Seeing parts of the refreshed queue already damaged within days left many guests disappointed.

For now, the attraction continues operating normally while Disney works on repairing portions of the queue. Whether the company fully restores every damaged section or simply continues patching areas over time remains unclear.
