Disney’s First Look at Muppets Coaster Has Fans Completely Hooked

Disney just gave fans a quick look at what’s coming to one of its most recognizable thrill rides, and it didn’t take long for people to start talking. This wasn’t a full reveal or anything close to it, but it didn’t need to be. Even a small preview like this is enough to spark curiosity and get fans wondering what the finished experience will feel like.

There’s also a noticeable shift in how Disney is rolling this out. Instead of one big announcement, the company is slowly building anticipation. Each new detail adds another piece to the puzzle, and fans are clearly paying attention.

Saying Goodbye to Aerosmith

To understand why this update matters, you have to look back at what came before it. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith had been a major part of Disney’s Hollywood Studios for years. It delivered a fast, intense ride paired with music that made the experience stand out.

The story placed guests inside a recording studio before launching them across Los Angeles in a stretch limo to catch a concert. It was loud, fast, and full of energy, which made it a fan favorite.

That version of the ride officially ended on March 1, 2026. Disney closed it for good to begin a full retheme, marking a major transition for the attraction.

The Muppets Step In

Soon after the closure, Disney confirmed that the ride would return with a completely new theme. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will spotlight Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, bringing a very different tone to the experience.

Instead of a traditional rock band, guests will now step into something more chaotic and playful. That change fits well with the Muppets’ style and gives the ride a fresh personality.

This move also keeps the Muppets present in the park as their former area changes. With Muppet Courtyard making way for a Monstropolis-themed expansion, fans were starting to wonder what would happen to these characters. Now, they have a major attraction to call their own.

A First Look at The Electric Mayhem

Disney’s latest update focuses on the band itself. The company shared new images of The Electric Mayhem performing their song “Can You Picture That?” as part of the attraction.

The track comes from The Muppet Movie (1979), where it plays during a memorable scene involving Fozzie’s car. Bringing it into the ride adds a nostalgic touch while still feeling new.

Disney also described the band performing at a “sold-out show” within the attraction. Based on how the ride is built, this performance will likely appear on a screen as guests exit. There isn’t space to add a full stage scene during the coaster itself, so a pre-recorded performance makes sense.

Even with that limitation, the preview shows off the tone Disney is going for. It’s colorful, energetic, and packed with personality.

Familiar Ride, New Story

While the theme is changing, the overall ride experience will stay familiar. Guests will still enter G-Force Records for a V.I.P. tour before being pulled into the action.

From there, they’ll race across town in a limo, trying to make it to a concert on time. That structure worked before, and Disney is keeping it in place for the new version.

At the end of the original ride, Aerosmith appeared on a screen above the photo area. The Muppets version appears to follow a similar setup, giving The Electric Mayhem their own performance moment before guests exit.

Because of this approach, the retheme is moving quickly. Most of the changes are focused on the pre-show and surrounding elements rather than the coaster track itself. Disney has already confirmed the ride will open this summer, though an exact date hasn’t been shared.

Music That Sets the Tone

Music remains a key part of the experience. Along with “Can You Picture That?”, Disney confirmed additional songs for the ride.

Guests will hear an Electric Mayhem cover of “Song 2” by Blur, as well as a new version of “Born To Be Wild” featuring Camilla the Chicken. These choices give the ride a fun and unpredictable soundtrack.

Disney plans to reveal the full set list on April 16, 2026, which should offer more insight into how the ride will feel from start to finish.

A Coaster Like No Other

This early look doesn’t show everything, but it gives fans a strong idea of what’s coming. The Electric Mayhem fits the ride’s energy, and the new music adds something fresh to a familiar experience.

More importantly, the update shows that the Muppets still have a major role to play in the parks. With a summer opening on the way, it won’t be long before guests can see how it all comes together.
