Disney Springs Permit Points to Major New Retail Brand After May 1 Closure

Disney Springs is about to look a little different again, and frequent visitors are already noticing the shift. Over the years, the shopping and dining district has gone through a steady evolution, with new restaurants, retail brands, and entertainment experiences constantly rotating through the property. Some additions arrive with huge announcements, while others quietly take over spaces guests have walked past for years.

This latest change falls into that second category.

One of Disney Springs’ longtime stores has now officially closed, and while Disney has not publicly confirmed what’s next for the location, newly uncovered permit details may have already revealed the replacement.

Shore Officially Closes at Disney Springs

Shore, the beach-inspired clothing and accessories store located in the Town Center section of Disney Springs, permanently closed on May 1. Before shutting down, the store spent several weeks running aggressive clearance sales with discounts reaching as high as 80%.

For longtime Disney Springs visitors, the closure marks the end of a pretty lengthy run. Shore was one of the original tenants when Town Center first opened around 10 years ago as part of Disney Springs’ massive expansion project.

The store leaned heavily into Florida-style apparel, casual fashion, and lightweight vacation clothing that matched the overall atmosphere of Walt Disney World. It felt like the kind of place guests would naturally wander into while taking a break from the parks.

While the Disney Springs location is gone, the company itself is not disappearing completely. Shore still operates another location in Longboat Key, Florida, and its online store remains active.

Still, whenever a storefront closes at Disney Springs, speculation usually starts immediately about what brand might move in next.

Permit Points Toward Vuori

That speculation may not last very long this time.

According to newly surfaced permit information, athletic apparel company Vuori is listed as the lessee connected to the former Shore location. Disney has not officially announced anything yet, but permit filings like these often reveal upcoming Disney Springs changes before the company publicly confirms them.

If Vuori does end up taking over the space, it would continue a noticeable trend happening across Disney Springs.

Over the last several years, Disney Springs has added more nationally recognized lifestyle brands that appeal to both tourists and locals. Vuori fits directly into that category. The company has become extremely popular thanks to its athletic wear, casual clothing, and premium comfort-focused designs.

The brand has grown rapidly in recent years, especially among shoppers looking for stylish clothing that also works well for travel and everyday wear.

Honestly, that sounds pretty perfect for Walt Disney World guests.

Disney Springs Is Becoming More Lifestyle-Focused

Disney Springs today feels very different compared to what Downtown Disney once looked like years ago.

While Disney merchandise still dominates certain areas, the shopping district now feels much closer to an upscale outdoor retail center mixed with restaurants and entertainment. Guests can spend an entire evening there without ever stepping into a theme park.

That broader appeal has changed the types of stores Disney seems interested in bringing to the property.

Athleisure and comfort-focused fashion have become incredibly popular in recent years, especially in tourist-heavy destinations. And when you think about how much walking Disney vacations involve, it makes sense why stores like Vuori continue expanding.

A lot of guests now prioritize lightweight clothing, comfortable shoes, and athletic-style outfits while traveling. Disney Springs adding another retailer built around that market feels like a very intentional move.

Disney Springs Never Really Stops Changing

One thing Disney fans have learned over the years is that Disney Springs constantly reinvents itself.

Stores close. Restaurants relocate. New experiences appear with little warning. Even frequent visitors sometimes show up after a few months away and suddenly notice entire sections looking different.

Town Center especially has changed a lot since opening. Some original locations remain, but several storefronts have already rotated out as Disney adjusts to shopping trends and guest demand.

If Vuori officially takes over the former Shore space, it would simply become the latest example of Disney Springs evolving alongside modern retail trends.

And judging by how quickly athleisure brands continue growing across the country, this probably will not be the last shift Disney Springs makes anytime soon.
