Disney Released the Second Song Coming to The New Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Disney has been rolling out details about Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets one piece at a time this week, and the latest drop is a good one. The second song on the attraction’s rotating setlist has been confirmed, and if you know anything about The Muppets, it is going to make complete sense the moment you hear it.
The Song Is “Born To Be Wild”
Steppenwolf’s classic rock anthem is officially joining the lineup, performed by The Electric Mayhem in their own signature style. The energy of the song matches the whole premise of the ride, guests racing across Hollywood in a Muppet limousine to get the band to their biggest concert ever, almost too well. It was made for this.

The twist is that Camilla the Chicken is featured in this version of the track. If you are familiar with Camilla’s long history of chaotic performance art alongside Gonzo, you already know what that means. Expect clucking. Expect it to be funnier than it has any right to be.
What the Disney Ride Is Actually About
For anyone coming in fresh, the new storyline puts guests inside G-Force Records, now run by Scooter’s uncle J.P. Grosse. The Electric Mayhem is supposed to be at their concert across town but is stuck in the studio jamming with penguin audio engineers instead. Guests board a limo and race to save the show.
Each limo is expected to carry a different song from the setlist, which means the ride has genuine re-rideability built in. You could get “Song 2” by Blur on one ride and “Born To Be Wild” on the next. That is a smart design choice, and it makes the attraction worth riding more than once per visit.
Thursday Is the Big One
Disney has been teasing the full setlist all week and confirmed it will be revealed on Thursday, April 16. That reveal is expected to be more than just a song list. Rumors point to additional character details and possibly the opening date that fans have been waiting for months.
The attraction is currently scheduled for a Summer 2026 debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with Memorial Day weekend quietly circulating as the target. Nothing is confirmed yet, but the pace of announcements this week does not feel like a project that is months away from being ready.
Why This Week Matters for Disney
The ride itself is largely intact. The track layout and coaster system are staying the same from the original Aerosmith version, which means Imagineering has been focused on the queue, pre-show, and the full audio-visual experience inside the attraction. Those tend to be the last things finished before an opening date gets set.
A full setlist reveal typically signals that the creative side of the project is locked. Once that box is checked, the announcement of the opening date usually follows quickly. Disney has been methodical about this rollout, and Thursday is shaping up to be the moment where the remaining pieces finally land.
For a ride that has been closed and largely shrouded in mystery, this week has moved fast. And it is not over yet.
