Person Found in the Middle of Disney World Intersection, First Responders on the Scene
Late Sunday night, authorities received reports of a “person down” within a roadway intersection at Walt Disney World Resort. Here’s what we know about the incident.
Late Evening Emergency Call at Disney World
Emergency services mobilized shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2025, following a “person down” report on Walt Disney World Resort property. This terminology serves as standard code throughout the resort for situations involving unconscious, unresponsive, or otherwise medically distressed individuals requiring assistance.

The code applies uniformly across Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney Springs, and all Disney Resort hotel properties whenever guests experience medical compromise requiring first responder intervention.
X (formerly Twitter) account @WDWActiveCrime, which tracks law enforcement scanner communications across Walt Disney World Resort, shared details of the response based on radio traffic transcription:

The Google Maps screenshot accompanying the scanner report indicates Disney Springs as the general location. However, Walt Disney World Resort’s emergency dispatch protocols route calls to centralized addresses rather than precise incident coordinates, resulting in mapped locations that are approximate rather than exact.
Scanner communications revealed that first responders actually traveled to the intersection where East Buena Vista Drive meets the EPCOT Center Drive off-ramp. This positioning places the incident on active vehicular roadways rather than pedestrian areas, raising questions about how the individual came to be located in the middle of an intersection. Whether the person was a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, someone who collapsed while crossing, or an individual who entered the roadway for unknown reasons cannot be determined from scanner reports alone.

Authorities have not released additional details about Sunday night’s incident beyond the initial emergency response captured through scanner monitoring. Medical emergency responses at Walt Disney World Resort are typically kept confidential, unless specific conditions warrant public disclosure. Criminal or suspicious activity at the Central Florida Disney parks often generates police reports accessible to the public, but purely medical situations generally receive privacy protections.
The primary exception to medical privacy occurs when patients succumb to their conditions, at which point certain information may become part of the public record. No such reports have emerged regarding Sunday evening’s intersection incident, though the timeline for such documentation can extend days or weeks beyond the initial emergency.
No Ongoing Traffic Disruptions

Despite Sunday’s emergency response, no lasting traffic complications have been reported affecting Walt Disney World Resort guests during the busy Christmas week period. The intersection where first responders worked appears to have returned to normal traffic flow, with no extended closures or detours.
