The Hidden Disney World Spots Everyone’s Trying to Keep Quiet

Between parades, thrill rides, and character meet-and-greets, Walt Disney World is one of the busiest places on Earth. But even in the middle of the excitement, there are corners where you can sit, recharge, and take in the beauty around you.

Start in Magic Kingdom, where a fairytale-like corner near the Tangled restrooms provides one of the park’s calmest environments. Rapunzel’s tower looms overhead, and the floating lanterns create a warm glow at dusk. There’s shaded seating, charging stations, and the faint sound of birds in the distance—it’s easily the prettiest “rest stop” in any theme park.

For a more traditional quiet space, wander down the side path behind Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square. Few guests ever go there, but it has benches overlooking the former Rivers of America and a front-row view of the Liberty Belle riverboat.

At EPCOT, head to the Japan Pavilion. The peaceful gardens with bamboo, Koi ponds, and soft ambient music feel like a world away from the crowds outside. If you’d rather sit with a treat, grab a pastry from France’s Les Halles and relax by the fountain behind the bakery.

Animal Kingdom’s Discovery Island Trails are another treasure. They wind around the Tree of Life and are full of shaded benches and small waterfalls. Hardly anyone ventures that far off the main path, so you’ll often have the area to yourself.

If you’re park-hopping or visiting Disney Springs, find a bench along the waterfront near The Boathouse. It’s breezy, quiet, and ideal for people-watching.

Disney World may be built for fun and energy, but it’s also filled with moments of peace for those who take the time to find them. When you finally sit back, close your eyes, and let the sounds of Disney surround you, you’ll realize—sometimes the best part of the day is doing nothing at all.

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
