‘Wicked’ Officially Heading to Universal Studios, Arriving in November

The Emerald City has never glowed brighter. Nearly two decades after Wicked first soared on Broadway, the story of Oz’s misunderstood witches is bigger than ever, stretching across stages, screens, and now theme parks. The global anticipation for Wicked: For Good, Jon M. Chu’s second installment, shows just how deeply the franchise has taken root.

The first film, released in November 2024, stunned even industry insiders. With box office receipts topping $750 million and both Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande nominated for Oscars, it redefined the possibilities of stage-to-film adaptations. That momentum has fueled intense speculation about the sequel, which promises new original music, grander visuals, and a darker emotional arc.

Part One ended with Elphaba defying gravity (literally) in a showstopping climax that reshaped her destiny in Oz. That unforgettable sequence set the stage for the fallout still to come — Glinda’s rise, Elphaba’s transformation, and the unraveling of friendships under the weight of politics and power.

Beyond the films themselves, the Wicked brand has grown into a cultural powerhouse. Fans point to Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe, now boasting the Wizarding World – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO World, and Dark Universe, as a potential spot for a land inspired by Oz to someday materialize. Though nothing has been confirmed, Universal’s latest move hints at how the studio plans to keep Wicked front and center.

Premiere Confirmed For Universal Studios

Instead of confining the sequel’s rollout to traditional red carpets, Universal is staging one of its most elaborate premieres yet.

Wicked: For Good will take over Universal Studios Singapore as part of a five-city global tour.

Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh (Madame Morrible), Jeff Goldblum (The Wizard), and director Jon M. Chu are all set to appear, with plans for a handprint ceremony and an immersive screening at the Pantages Hollywood Theatre.

Fans unable to travel will still be able to follow along. Universal Studios Singapore has confirmed its Instagram will host updates throughout the event.

Erivo and Grande added fuel to the fire by sharing the announcement themselves on social media, sending excitement across fan communities worldwide.

The Singapore stop follows similar celebrations in other major cities and marks the fourth event on the tour. Each stop has been designed to showcase Wicked not just as a film release, but as a sprawling cultural moment.

Limited Access, High Demand

Important details remain for fans hoping to attend in person. The premiere screening itself is restricted to invited guests. However, Universal has introduced a Premiere Day Special ticket for November 13, which grants park admission, food-and-beverage vouchers, retail credit, and access to the yellow-carpet arrivals.

Pricing begins at $93 SGD ($72 USD) for adults and $72 SGD ($55 USD) for children.

The ticket also opens up entry to other park attractions, including Far Far Away (yes, like Shrek 2) and Minions Land, creating a hybrid of Hollywood spectacle and family day out.

Availability is limited, so guests should act fast if they hope to attend.
