Disney Suspends Pixar Production, Effective From January

One Pixar production is going on an extensive hiatus from January 2026.

Pixar has long been woven into the fabric of Disney’s theme parks, with characters and stories appearing in attractions across the globe. From Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida to Crush’s Coaster in Paris, the studio’s animated creations have become an integral part of the Disney park experience.

In Paris, Walt Disney Studios Park has steadily increased its Pixar footprint in Disney’s efforts to transform the much-maligned theme park.

Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, launched in 2014, was among the first major expansions to spotlight the animation powerhouse. The park later unveiled Worlds of Pixar, a rethemed section celebrating franchises such as Finding Nemo to Cars, creating a vibrant new hub for visitors.

Major Pixar Production Going on Hiatus From January

Arguably, the crown jewel of Pixar experiences in Paris is the spectacular musical, TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure.

This immersive stage production takes guests through the worlds of Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, Coco, and more. It’s received rave reviews from parkgoers, but historically doesn’t run all year round, with regular breaks between “seasons” of performances.

One of these breaks is set to begin in January. A notice on the park’s website confirms a two-month hiatus for TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure from January 5 to March 6.

Fans planning trips during that period will find the show unavailable. However, its March return date means it’ll be back just in time for one of the biggest moments in the park’s history: the opening of World of Frozen.

The new Frozen (2013)-themed land follows in the footsteps of a land with the same name in Hong Kong Disneyland and Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea. This will feature a version of Frozen Ever After, originally added to EPCOT in 2016.

Its arrival marks the park’s transition to Disney Adventure World – a new identity befitting of recent additions to the theme park.

Avengers Campus debuted in 2022, marking the first step in a wider expansion plan. A land inspired by The Lion King (1994) is also on the way, with Walt Disney Imagineering recently experimenting with test ride systems.

Also coming are rides inspired by Tangled (2010) and Up (2009), plus a lake area for nighttime spectaculars and some much-needed ambience.
