Disneyland Temporarily Closes Attraction After Child Jumps off Attraction

The incident unfolded when a guest shared that “We were just evacuated from the Monsters Inc. ride with show building lights on because a kid was completely out of the ride vehicle.” In response, Disneyland cast members quickly evacuated riders, ensuring safety protocols were followed while the ride’s system was reset. The guest also overheard cast members mentioning that it was possible the child had been intentionally lifted out of the ride vehicle by a parent and placed on the back of the vehicle.

Though the specific details surrounding the incident are still unclear, this type of situation necessitates immediate action to safeguard both the guests and the ride. The cast member reportedly said, “It’s an old ride that won’t be here much longer, so it takes a while to restart.” This comment comes with the news that Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! is getting a permanent closure in early 2026.
