Marvel Actor Breaks Silence on Devastating Firing After Conviction
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to dramatic twists, both on and off screen. In a saga that has captivated comic book fans and industry insiders alike, one of its rising stars has experienced a career-altering moment that is now sending shockwaves throughout Hollywood.
In 2021, a brand-new villain burst onto the scene in the season finale of Disney+’s Loki. Kang the Conqueror made his debut to the delight of comic book fans everywhere, with the role being brought to life by the talented Jonathan Majors.

Majors’ portrayal of Kang was intended to usher in a new era of MCU storytelling. His character was not only central to Loki, but he also appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) and was slated to headline Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Yet, behind the scenes, a personal crisis would soon upend the actor’s burgeoning career.
In March 2023, Majors’ world was turned upside down when he was arrested and charged with harassment, assault, and strangulation.

According to reports, the incident occurred at his New York apartment when he called the police after allegedly finding his girlfriend unresponsive. Subsequent investigations, which involved speaking with his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, concluded that Majors had beaten his ex, resulting in injuries that necessitated hospitalization.
The fallout from the arrest was swift and severe. While Marvel initially maintained a relative silence about the arrest, the controversy quickly escalated. The actor’s once-promising career in the MCU was thrown into disarray as Marvel was forced to delay Magazine Dreams, a film in which Majors was set to star.
Then, in December 2023, after being found guilty of assault in the third degree and harassment, Marvel announced it was parting ways with Majors. This decision sent ripples through the Marvel Cinematic Universe, throwing Phase 5 into uncertainty as Marvel scrambled to decide if Kang the Conqueror would remain in the storyline or be recast entirely.
Following his conviction, Majors faced further consequences. In April 2024, he was sentenced to one year of attendance in a domestic violence intervention program.
This legal setback came with its own emotional toll. Grace Jabbari, his ex-girlfriend, expressed disappointment in the sentencing, claiming that Majors had always maintained his innocence and was not remorseful.
Now, in a candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Majors — known for his role as Kang — recounts the painful moment he learned of his firing. Reflecting on the aftermath of his trial, he recalled sitting in his car with his legal team when his lawyer broke the news.
“He goes, ‘I’m just gonna tell you now,’” Majors says. “That way you’re not surprised, and you can start processing it. They fired you. Marvel fired you.’”
“There were days when it was like, ‘Is this real?’” says Majors, 35, of the period of time during and immediately after his trial, where he pleaded not guilty. “It’s a heartbreak like I’ve never experienced and it just compounded and compounded.”
Despite this devastating turn, Jonathan Majors is slowly beginning to rebuild his career. His scrapped film, Magazine Dreams, was purchased by Briarcliff Entertainment in October 2024 and is set to be released on March 21. Additionally, Majors has revealed that he is auditioning for new roles, including a superhero part, although he clarified that it will not be with Marvel or DC.
The impact of Majors’ exit from the MCU has been profound. With his character integral to Phase 5, Marvel was forced to retool its plans.
At the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel shocked fans with a major reveal: The Kang Dynasty has been rebranded as Avengers: Doomsday. In an even bigger twist, Robert Downey Jr. is slated to return to the MCU as Doctor Doom — a casting decision that is set to alter the franchise’s future.
Downey Jr. was once the face of the MCU as Tony Stark, a role that left an indelible mark on audiences until his character’s demise in Avengers: Endgame (2019).
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe evolves without one of its most promising talents, the ramifications of this decision will be felt for years to come. For now, Majors is focused on rebuilding, while Marvel continues to redefine its narrative arc in Phase 5 without him.

Seems you are in love with Majors. Maybe you could be his next victim.
Well from what I’ve read he only seems upset about being fired, maybe if he had shown any remorse it may have been different for him,but if you hurt a woman you deserve what you get
