Poorly Planned Splash Mountain Protest Still On, But There’s Been a Change…

Although the Walt Disney World Resort version of the ride is currently in the process of being taken down, many fans of Splash Mountain cannot accept that the attraction is leaving.
Magic Kingdom is home to classic attractions such as Space Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, and until recently, Splash Mountain. However, Walt Disney Imagineering is taking apart the Splash Mountain ride as we speak.

The mountain water has been drained, and the briar patch is in pieces as the Walt Disney Imagineers retheme the attraction into a new ride.

Now, Disneyland Park’s Critter Country holds the only Splash Mountain ride in the United States, and some Guests are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure it goes nowhere.
One Disney fan, in particular, had planned a sit-in protest to show the Walt Disney Company that Guests want this ride to stay (more info on that can be found here).

This idea was concerning because the Disney fan himself had used threatening and violent language.
An update shows that as the protests became more organized, followers began losing interest. After all, what’s the point of protesting to keep an attraction if you’ll just be banned from Disneyland Park as a result?

However, it now seems that the protest has changed from a sit-in to protesting at “Disney HQ.”
Anyone can see that this protest has become less and less organized as time goes on. That being said, there is still some cause for concern. If you visit Disneyland Park on March 18, be aware of your surroundings and stay cautious.
